First look poster of Shakeela out


Makers of Shakeela, a biopic on the life of South Indian star Shakeela, today released the first poster of the film. A biopic based on the life of Shakeela, who ruled the South Indian film industry for over two decades, the film features Richa Chadha in lead role and Pankaj Tripathi and Rajeev Ravindranathan in key roles. Produced by Sammy Nanwani and Sahil Nanwani of ufomoviez, Shakeela is directed by  Indrajit Lankesh. It will release in cinemas on Christmas. 


Shakeela explores the life of the controversial Shakeela, who was a popular adult film star. The film also shows the male-dominated star system of the southern industry in the 90s.

The makers were earlier in talks to explore a release of the film on OTT platform. The release of the film, was earlier slated for July.but had to be postponed due to COVID-19 pandemic. 

Richa Chadha will be the second Bollywood actor to recreate life of a South Indian film star. Vidya Balan had earlier worked in The Dirty picture,  a biopic on life of a South Indian star.
