Master featuring superstar Vijay, to release in cinemas Jan 13.

Tamil film #Master, featuring superstar Vijay, will release in cinemas on January 13 on Pongal.

Makers of the film made this announcement on twitter. '#Master will release on 13th Jan 2021 #VijayTheMaster (Hindi) will release on 14th Jan 2021 ,'they said.

The makers of the film also released a new poster of the film, featuring Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi

Written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, and produced by Xavier Britto, under the banner XB Film Creators, #Master stars Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi, with Malavika Mohanan, Arjun Das, Andrea Jeremiah and Shanthanu Bhagyaraj in supporting roles.





Trade experts feel that the decision of the makers to release the film with the Covid pandemic still raging is a brave decision indeed.

The decision to release Master in cinemas is perhaps due to the fact that compared to North India and Mumbai, audiences in South India have been turning out in cinema halls in larger numbers. 





Vijay had recently met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami to seek the government’s support to release Master in theatres.

Trade sources said Vijay requested the CM to allow the theatres in the state to function with their maximum seating capacity. At present, the theatres can only function with 50 per cent of their actual capacity following COVID-19 safety protocol.
