Directed by Ramin Bahrani, The White Tiger , an adaptation from a book of the same name by Arvind Adiga, deals with caste discrimination in India.

The film, being streamed on Netflix from January 22, features, Priyanka Chopra, Rajkummar Rao and Adarsh Gourav in lead roles and Mahesh Manjrekar in a key role.

The film tells the story of poor villager Balram who ends up working as a driver, before escaping poverty against all odds.

Working as a servant to a powerful couple in India, Balram makes himself indispensable and only later realizes that his masters don't have his best interests at heart. The film explores his battle with morality and his desire to be treated with respect.

The White Tiger showcases the economic and emotional disparity between the rich and the poor in India, while exploring the possibilities of what could happen when those who are at the bottom of the food chain stand up for themselves.

The film has received audience applause as well as critical acclaim for brilliant performances by Adarsh Gourav, Priyanka Chopra and Rajkummar Rao and its witty and poignant portrayal of social discrimination in modern India.

The White Tiger is in the first position among the top ten films being streamed on Netflix worldwide.
