Ram Lakhan is as fresh today as it was 32 years ago: Subhash Ghai

As Ram Lakhan, Subhash Ghai's modern take on the story of Lord Rama and his brother Lakshmana, completed 32 years of its release today, the Bollywood showman said his 1989 classic is as relevant today as it was at the time of its release.

Sharing some pictures of lead actors Anil Kapoor and Jackie Shroff during the making of the film, Subhash Ghai said, '#RAM LAKHAN- 27 jan 1989 Is as fresh today as it was 32nd years back just for its cinematic narrative, music and immortal characters on screen. Congrats all artistes n technicians .'

Ram Lakhan completed 32 years of its release today 

A huge box office blockbuster of its time, Ram Lakhan, produced and directed by Subhash Ghai , featured an ensemble cast comprising Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Madhuri Dixit, Dimple Kapadia, Amrish Puri, Raakhee and Anupam Kher.

Ram Lakhan featured Anil Kapoor and Jackie Shroff in lead roles 

Considered a classic of Indian cinema, Ram Lakhan saw Jackie Shroff assay the modern version of Rama while Anil Kapoor played the modern version of Lakshmi a and Rakhee Gulzaar played the modern version of Kaushalya.

Ram Lakhan is considered to be Ghai's best work.

The film featured the much loved Jodi of Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit and was one of their most memorable films together.

Ram Lakhan won two fi,more awards, including the award for Best Supporting actress for Rakhee Gulzaar and award for best performance in a comic role for Anupam Kher and Satish Kaushik.
