Silence: Manoj Bajpayee stands out with his no nonsense cop act in this gripping murder mystery

Last year, he left viewers impressed with his unconventional cop act in The Family Man, winning him a huge fan following among audiences.
Almost an year after The Family Man, Manoj Bajpayee now appears as an honest and no nonsense  police officer Avinash Verma who is tasked to solve a high profile murder case in Silence  can you hear it.

The daughter of a former Judge is found murdered. The case us handed over to ACP Avinash Verma who now works in narcotics division but has been assigned the case as he is known to be an honest police officer who is known for going about solving crimes in a no nonsense manner without caring about protocol. He heads a special team of officers to solve this case. The team comprises inspector Sanjana Bhatia(Prachi Desai ), inspector Amit Chauhan (Sahil Vaid) and Inspector Raj Gupta(Vaquar Sheikh) . As he goes about solving the crime, members of the victim Pooja Chaudhry 's(Barkha Singh) family and friend circle, including the husband of her friend Kavita , MLA Ravi Khanna (played by Arjun Mathur) , come under the radar. The story is about how Avinash Verma and his team are able to solve the mystery.

Silence is an extremely gripping murder mystery with Manoj Bajpayee standing out with his no nonsense cop act 

The success of any murder mystery depends on whether it is able to keep the viewers engaged through the length of the film. In this respect, the writer and director Aban Bharucha Deohans manages to keep audiences hooked to proceedings from beginning to end with a taut screenplay that maintains a high level of curiosity throughout the film. Infact, the director manages to maintain the suspense till the very end.

Manoj Bajpayee has in the past impressed us with his aggressive cop act in many films. In Silence too, he keeps us entertained with his 'No nonsense cop' act. You seen him getting into the heart of the investigation immediately after taking over the case. His one liners in the film like 'Socha Kyun' and his angry outburst against MLA Ravi Khanna perfectly establish the no nonsense cop image of ACP Avinash Verma. As ACP Avinash Verma, Manoj Bajpayee is undoubtedly the highlight of the film.

Prachi Desai too impresses as inspector Sanjana Bhatia while Sahil Vaid and Vaquar Sheikh are quite effective as inspector Amit Chauhan and Inspector Raj Gupta. The chemistry between ACP Avinash Verma and his team members comes across as excellent.

The rest of the cast, including Arjun Mathur as MLA Ravi Khanna, Barkha Singh as Pooja Chaudhry, Shishir Sharma as Justice Chaudhry and Denzil Smith as the police commissioner lend able support.

Silence - Can You hear it is an extremely gripping murder mystery with Manoj Bajpayee standing out with his no nonsense cop act.

My rating: 3.5/5: one for the gripping screenplay, one for direction, one for the stand out act by Manoj Bajpayee and 0.5 for chemistry between ACP Avinash Verma and his team.
