Fascinated by Bindaas spirit of Bulbul in Runaway Lugaai': Ruhi Singh

She has grabbed eyeballs with her portrayal of the Bindaas free spirited small town girl Bulbul in the web series Runaway Lugaai , being streamed on Mx player.

In the web series, Bulbul chooses to run away from her marriage to live her big dream of choosing her own path in life.

Former miss India Ruhi Singh, who assays the role of Bulbul in Runaway Lugaai,  says that she is fascinated by Bindaas spirit of her character in the web series,  who chooses to pursue her dreams even if it is at the cost of running away from her marriage .

'My character Bulbul is bold, she’s bindaas and as a small town girl, she goes through this dilemma of wanting to achieve and live her big dream even at the cost of running away from her life as a newly wed. What I loved about Bulbull was the fact that when she finds a different path for herself a little while into her marriage,  she isn’t afraid to go after it .

  It’s the sheer thrill of being able to take a giant leap of faith that leaves most of us fascinated by these plots,'Ruhi Singh said  about  her character in the series.

Ruhi Singh, who was earlier this year seen in the action thriller Bang Baang,  being streamed on Alt Balaji and Zee5,  says that while playing the character of the free spirited small town girl, there was a  sense of purpose and adrenaline pushing through her.

'While enacting the scene where Bulbull  decides to run away from  her  marriage in pursuit of her dream, there was this sense of purpose and adrenaline pulsing through me, and I was mentally cheering on my character who so bravely decided to make an unconventional choice.

Stories of runaway brides might not be convincing for all, but there could be multiple reasons as to why a bride is fighting against this new chapter of her life. Bulbul finds a different path for herself a little while into her marriage, and she isn’t afraid to go after it –  this courage is what I love about her.,'Ruhi Singh said.

Being streamed on Mx player from May 18, Runaway Lugaai,  directed by Avinash Das  entertains viewers with a heady cocktail of politics,  crime, corruption and human emotions .

Featuring former miss India runners up Ruhi Singh in the lead role , Runaway Lugaai follows the story of Rajnikant Sinha (Rajni - who is far from his namesake), the only child of MLA Narendra Sinha (Sanjay Mishra) who has lived his entire life under his father’s thumb. But things changed for him when he met Bulbul (Ruhi Singh) - a beautiful, feisty and free-spirited girl whom he marries soon after. Instead of a happily ever after, what follows for Rajni is a shocking turn of events when his lugaai goes missing without leaving a trace, shortly after their marriage and thus begins Rajni’s humorous and heart-warming quest to find his ‘Runaway Lugaai’.

Runaway Lugaai has been produced by Aarrav Jindal, under his banner Euphoria Production  and directed by Avinash Das(Anaarkali of Aarah and Raat Baaki Hai).

Besides featuring Ruhi Singh, in lead role of Bulbul, Runaway Lugaai  also features Naveen Kasturia, Sanjay Mishra, Arya Babbar, Pankaj Jha, Chittaranjan Tripathy and Ravi Kishan in key roles.

Ruhi Singh was earlier this year seen as the female lead of the action web series Bang Baang,  being Streamed on Alt Balaji and Zee5.  She was also seen in the music video Do Char Din and  also appeared in the Eros Now web series Operation Cobra.

She has also featured in Madhur Bhandarkar's Calender Girls.
