Yashpal Sharma unveils poster of debut film Dada Laxmi a biopic of Haryana Folk artist Lakhmi Chand

Yashpal Sharma, who has played character roles in many Hindi films like Lagaan, Gangs of Wasseypur and Gangajal, is set to release his debut feature film Dada Lakhmi , a biopic of folk artist of Haryana Pandit Lakshmi Chand.
Yashpal Sharma, who has made a foray in film production with Dada Lakhmi, which charts the life of folk artist and poet of Haryana Pandit Lakshmi Chand,
today unveiled a new poster of his film.
Sharing the poster of the film, that chronicles the life of Pandit Lakshmi Chand, considered the Kalidas and the Shakespeare of Haryana for his inspirational songs and poetry, Yashpal Sharma said, 'MY UPCOMING FIRST FEATURE FILM...DADA LAKHMI.....THE MUSICAL JOURNEY OF PANDIT LAKHMI CHAND..... IT'S A BIOPIC OF A FOLK ARTIST OF HARYANA...'
The film, directed and co produced by Yashpal Sharma, features him in the lead role of Pandit Lakshmi Chand.
Besides Yashpal Sharma, Dada Lakshmi features Meghna Malik and Rajendra Gupta in key roles.

Dada Lakhmi traces the life of the Haryanvi poet and singer from his birth to his journey as a poet, social reformer and poet, who inspired change in the nook and corner of the state through his songs and poetry.
The film will feature Meghna Malik as Dada Lakhmi's mother while Rajendra Gupta plays his Guru.
A major portion of the shooting of the film has been held in Haryana , in villages of Sonepat, Sirsa and Rohtak amid the Covid pandemic. Portions of the film have been shot in Haridwar.
The film has been made jn two parts. The first part will cover the childhood of Pandit Lakshmi Chand and his attraction towards song and poetry while the second deals with his journey as poet and singer and the various ups and downs in life.
Yashpal Sharma had planned to release the first part of the film in theatres in April but the release was delayed due to the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic.
The film,m has, however, been screened at many film festivals in Mumbai, Delhi,Noid/ and Ghaziabad .
The first part is now expected to be released on OTT soon.
A renowned of Haryanvi language, Dada Lakhmi Chand' , as he was popularity called in Haryana, is known for his songs with message on moral values, which earned him respect in all corners of Haryana.
For his body of work, Dada Lakshmi Chand was given the title of 'Pandit'.
Known as kalidas of Haryana, Dada Lakshmi Chand has been accorded the honor of the 'Surya Kavi' of Haryanvi music genre Raagni and Saang.
Dada Lakhmi Chand used to sing various stories with great morals in his 'Raagni' and gave a message to live a good lifestyle through skits called Saang. His widely popular work 'Lakhmichand Ka Brahmgyaan' that has been sung by various Haryanvi artists after his death.
His writings have had a marked influence on contemporary culture and society of Haryana. Annually, Haryana Kala Parishad confers Pandit Lakhmi Chand Award to people for their contributions to Haryanvi literature.
