Hungama 2 to release on Disney Hotstar July 23, trailer to release tomorrow

Amid an  uncertainty on opening of cinema halls with the second wave of COVID-19 still continuing and a looming threat of a third wave, makers of many upcomingmfilms are going for an OTT release.

Joining the list of OTT releases this Summer is Priyadarshan's Hungama 2, which will be released on Disney Hotstar on July 23.

The trailer of the film will be released tomorrow.

Sharing the announcement of the release of the film, director Priyadarshan said, 'Double the Hungama and double the fun, coming to your screen only on Disney+ Hotstar VIP! #DisneyPlusHotstarMultiplex #Hungama2 trailer out on July 1st. '

Being produced by Venus Records and Tapes, Hungama 2, a sequel to the 2013 hit Hungama,  features Shilpa Shetty, Pranati Subhas, Paresh Rawal, Manoj Jishi, Meehan Jaffry and Rajpal Yadav in key roles.

The film's lead actress Shilpa Shetty shared the news of the release of the film on her social media account.

Hungama 2 to go for OTT release,  to premiere on Disney Hotstar on July 23



A sequel to the 2013 hit Hungama,  Hungama 2 was scheduled to hit theatres in August.  However,  amid  uncertainty on reopening of theatres due to restrictions in various states still not completely eased due to continuing cases of Covid-19 and the looming threat of a third wave.

Infact, the makers of the film had earlier indicated that they could go for an OTT release of the film.

The 2013 film starred Paresh Rawal,  Shoma Anand, Akshay Khanna, Aftab Shivdasani in lpivotal ro,es.

Paresh Rawal will be returning in the sequel.

Many Bollywood films eye OTT release 


Trade sources say that amid uncertainty on reopening of cinemas,  makers of other upcoming films like 83 are likely to go for an OTT release.

83 was scheduled to hit theatres but its ready to be postponed due to uncertainty on reopening of cinema halls amid continuing threat of second wave of COVID-19.

Bollywood releases like Kartik Aryan starrer Dhamaka and Bhoot  Police  could also go for an OTT release if situation in the country does not return to normalcy soon.
