Esha Deol joins cast of Rudra- The Edge of Darkness,  to make her digital debut with the crime drama series

Bollywood actor Esha Deol Takhtani is set to make her digital debut with crime drama series Rudra- The Edge of Darkness,  which will release on Disney Hotstar streaming platform later this year.

With Rudra -The Edge of Darkness, a dark thriller which features Ajay Devgn in the lead role,  Esha Deol will be returning to the arclights after a long hiatus.

Esha Deol will be sharing screen space with Ajay Devgn in Rudra The Edge of Darkness  after more than a decade.

Being produced by Applause Entertainment, Rudra - The Edge of Darkness is an engaging dark, gritty crime-drama series that brings together a unique storytelling format and powerful characters, making it a must-watch for fans of thrillers and crime-dramas.

Esha Deol said that she is extremely excited about her digital debut with the crime drama series.

“I am really happy to collaborate with Applause and BBC Studios for Rudra - The Edge of Darkness on Disney+ Hotstar VIP. As an actor, I believe in working on projects that would let me explore something new and engage me as a viewer as well.

This series is a fresh take on the quintessential cop drama, with a grey overtone, something which has not been explored in the Indian context before. With the resounding success of the OTT space, I am charged up for my digital debut with this one and I am looking forward to working with Ajay Devgn after a long time who has been a fantastic co-star to me in many films,'Esha Deol said.

On casting Esha Deol for the crime drama series,  CEO of Applause Entertainment Sameer Nair  said, “With Esha Deol Takhtani joining the star cast of Rudra – The Edge of Darkness, we are certain that her presence  will  take  the  series  a notch higher and add more spark to the story.

Produced by Applause Entertainment in association with BBC Studios India, 
the series reimagines the iconic globally successful British series – Luther, for Indian audiences.
 
The Hotstar Specials series will soon be going into production and will be shot across iconic locales of Mumbai. 

Esha Deol will be sharing screen space with Ajay Devgn nearly 15 years after Cash(2007).

The actress is returning to the arclights after a long bhuatus . She was last seen in the short film Cakewalk.

Her last full fledged feature film was Tell Me O Kkhuda (2011) directed and produced by her mother Hema Malini. She portrayed the lead role in the film opposite Arjan Bajwa, Vinod Khanna, Rishi Kapoor and her father Dharmendra.

Rudra The Edge of Darkness will also mark the digital debut of Ajay Devgn.

The series was announced in April this year.

Ajay Devgn plays a cop in the series.
