Poor box office run of Akshay Kumar continues, Selfie earns just Rs 14 cr in opening week

The poor run of Akshay Kumar at the box office continues with his latest film Selfie failing to set the box office on fire, earning a mere Rs 14 cr in its opening week.
After a below average opening, the Akshay Kumar Emraan Hashmi starrer saw a drop in its collections on week days, ending up with just Rs 14.25 cr at the box office in its opening week.
Despite the presence release hype, Selfie failed to set the box office on fire, earning just Rs 10.20 cr in its opening weekend. The film continued with its poor run on week days, ending up with collections of Rs 14.25 in its opening week.

The below average response to the film continues Akshay Kumar's poor run at the box office with a spate of his films in recent months, including Prithviraj, Bachchan Pandey, Raksha Bandhan and Ram Setu, performing poorly at the box office.
Directed by Raj Mehta and produced by Dharma Productions, Magic Frames, Prithviraj Productions, Cape of Good Films and Star Studios.Selfie centre's on a rivalry between a superstar and an RTO inspector who is a big fan of Ghee actor.
Selfie stars Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi in lead roles with Diana Penty and Nushrratt Bharuccha playing supporting roles.
The film is a remake of the 2019 Malayalam film, Driving Licence.
With collections of Rs 2.6 cr on its opening day, Selfie is among the lowest openers of Akshay Kumar.
In the last couple of years, a series of films featuring Akshay Kumar have met with a lukewarm response at the box office.
These include Bachchan Pandey, Prithviraj, Raksha Bandhan and Ram Setu.
