Twisted thriller Aliya Basu Gayab Hai releases in cinemas August 9

Film presents Raima Sen in a 'never seen before' role,  says director Preeti Singh

Thrillers are in vogue in Bollywood these days.

After the raving reviews for Kill, which hit cinema screens a few weeks ago,  this week witnesses the release of a twisted thriller Aliya Basu Gayab Hai,  which has created a lot of buzz among cinelovers ahead of its release .

Ahead of its release in theatres,  Alia Basu Gayab Hai has drawn eyeballs due to its trailer which presents actress Raima Sen in a 'never seen before' role.

Raima Sen stars in Aliya Basu Gayab Hai along with veteran actor Vinay Pathak and actor Salim Diwan.

Another aspect of the film , which has been directed by well known ad filmmaker Preeti Singh,   that has drawn attention is the performance by Salim Diwan, which has won rave reviews from critics and audiences.

Salim Diwan and the director of the film Preeti Singh were in Delhi this week to promote the film.

Talking about the film,  Preeti Singh, known for her dark comedies , said that Alia Basu Gayab Hai will present an aspect of veteran Hindi and Bengali films actor Raima Sen  which been never shown before in Indian cinema.

'' In Aliya Basu Gayab Hai, Raima plays Aliya, the daughter of a  wealthy businessman who is abducted by two people. Raima  features in a deglam role in the film.  In addition, she has performed numerous incredible action sequences in the film,Preeti Singh told media persons.

She said that the film has a lot of unexpected twists and turns.

'In Aliya Basu Gayab Hai, the audiences will witness an entirely new aspect of Raima that has never been shown before. There are a lot of unexpected turns in the movie,'Preeti Singh said.

Known for her dark comedies and her unique style of filmmaking,  Preeti Singh's first short documentary was screened at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival

Aliya Basu Gayab Hai, which has been produced by Sattar Diwan and Jonu Rana under the banner of Rehab Pictures,  is the story of two ex convicts abducting a rich man's daughter for ransom .

Speaking to reporters,  actor Salim Diwan, who stars in the film alongside Raima Sen and Vinay Pathak,  said that working with veterans like Raima Sen and Vinay Pathak has been a learning experience for him.

'Sharing screen with outstanding performers like Raima Sen and Vinay Pathak has been nothing short of a learning experience for me, 'Salim said.

Salim Diwan,  who plays an ex convict who abducted a rich businessman's daughter for ransom,  is winning rave reviews for his performance in the film.

Talking about the film,  he said, 'I took on the character after reading this extraordinary script. Aliya Basu Gayab Hai provides both excitement and amusement. I'm excitedly awaiting the  public response to the film when  it releases in cinemas on August 9.''
