Cinema halls in various cities of Maharashtra, including Mumbai, and in states of North India have been witnessing poor footfalls following a recent surge in Covid cases in these states.

Due to the surge in Covid cases, Maharashtra government has imposed many restrictions in the state, which includes limiting the capacity in hotels and cinema halls to 50 per cent.

The ground situation in Maharashtra and other states has put a question mark on release of Bollywood mega starrers scheduled for release in the coming months, including Bunty Aur Babli 2, Chehre, Sooryavanshi, Satyamev Jayate 2 and Radhe.
