Hollywood film Godzilla Vs Kong continues its strong run at the box office in India with earnings of Rs 6 cr on its second day on Thursday.

The film, which performed outstandingly at theatres across India on its opening day on Friday with collections of more than Rs 6 cr , remained steady on the second day of its release , earning approximately Rs 6 crore.

The film has now earned over Rs 12 crore from across India in its first two days.

The makers of the film expect the collections to record a sharp rise on Saturday and Sunday.

Though a major portion of the earnings of Godzilla Vs Kong have come from Cinema halls in South India, where the impact of COVID-19 has been lesser compared to that in Maharashtra and parts of North India, the collections taken by Godzilla Vs Kong are highest two day figure for any Hollywood or Bollywood film released in the recent months.

Released in India by Warner Bros in Hindi, English, Tamil and Telugu,  Godzilla Vs King took an excellent opening in India,  earning over Rs 6 crore on its opening day in India, the biggest opening for any film released in recent weeks.

Godzilla Vs King did outstanding business in the South Indian markets while performing poorly in Mumbai and other parts of India, which have been witnessing a surge in covid cases in last two weeks.

The film, released in INOX theatres across India, saw near full houses in mist if the theatres screening the film in South India.

The good collections by the Hollywood film come even as Bollywood films Roohi and Mumbai Saga struggle at the box office following worsening covid situation in Maharashtra and several other states like Punjab.

Infact , the present situation has led makers of the much awaited makers of film Haathi Mere Saathi to postpone release of their film's Hindi version, which was scheduled to release on March 26.

The present situation has also put a question mark on release of mega starrers scheduled for release in the next couple of months, including Bunty Aur Babli2, Chehre, Sooryavanshi and Salman Khan starrer Radhe.
