In recent weeks,  the unprecedented surge in covid cases in Maharashtra has led to a severe shortage of COVID-19 vaccines.

The surge has led the state government enforce a lockdown and a ban on  shooting and film  production activities in the state , affecting livelihood of thousands of people engaged in the film business.

Sharp spurt in COVID-19 cases in many states in the country, including Maharashtra, over the past few weeks has resulted in makers of films like  Haathi Mere Saathi, Bunty Aur Babli2 , Chehre , Sooryavanshi , Satyamev Jayate 2 and Toofan deferring the release of their films due to the worsening covid situation.

With the situation remaining grim, it is only a matter of time before the makers of other mega starrers also postpone the release of the films.

Bollywood has several mega starrers lined up in the coming months,  which would be severely impacted if the covid situation in the country continues to worsen.
