The Family Man 2,S 4 of Comedy Series Documental & crime series Dom stream on Amazon Prime this week

A variety of shows, running across diverse genres , will entertain viewers on Amazon Prime in the coming week .

Scheduled to stream on Amazon Prime Video this week are the much awaited espionage thriller The Family Man 2, season 4 of Japanese Comedy Series Documental  and first season of Brazilian series Dom .

Premiering  on Amazon Prime Video on June  4 will be  the season 2 of the popular action thriller web series The Family Man, that takes viewers through the story of intelligence officer Srikant Tiwari who tries to balance his family life along with his stressful job of battling enemies of the Nation .

Season 2 of the web series will seen Srikant Tiwari battle a new nemesis in form of Raji(Samantha Akkineni), member of a  Tamil insurgent group .

Produced by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D K, the season 2 of The Family Man will see Manoj Bajpayee reprise his role of intelligence officer Srikant Tiwari ,  with Samantha Akkineni, Priyamani, Sharib Hashmi and Shreya Dhanwantary featuring in pivotal roles

Season 2 of show will also mark the digital debut of actor Samantha Akkineni. In the series, Samantha essays the role of Raji, the new nemesis of Srikant Tiwari, played by Manoj Bajpayee. She plays a Sri Lankan Tamilian.

Ahead of its premiere,  season 2 of  The Family Man is creating buzz among audiences with the trailer of the show garnering 50 million views in just six days of its release.

Trailer of the new season, unveiled by Amazon Prime Video last week, promises another nail biting action thriller from Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK.

The Family Man 2 has also been generating controversies since the release of its trailer with some parties from Tamil Nadu demanding its ban for allegedly portraying Tamilians as terrorists.

Last week,  MDMK leader and Rajya Sabha MP Vaiko wrote to Information and Broadcasting minister Prakash Javadekar , demanding that its release on Amazon Prime Video be stopped  as it allegedly portrays Tamil people as terrorists.

In a letter to Mr Javadekar,  Vaiko said that the trailer of The Family Man 2,  recently released on social media, depicts Tamilians as terrorists and ISI agents and having links with Pakistan.

Earlier, ,  Naam Tamilar Katchi, a political party in Tamil Nadu considering LTTE founder V Prabhakaran as its idol,  demanded a ban on the series for its alkeged portrayal of the LTTE as terrorists .

In a statement , NTK chief co coordinator Senthamizah Seeman said that the series should be banned as it portrays Tamizh people as terrorists.

The Family Man , created and visualized by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D K,revolves around a middle-class man named Srikant, who works for a special cell of the National Investigation Agency (NIA). The series explores Srikant's life  as he strives to strike a balance between his high-pressure, high-stakes job and being a husband and a father.

After season 1 of  The Family Man released last year on Amazon Prime Video, kept the viewers intrigued with its various twists and turns and had them on the edge of their seats, there has beenalot if curiosity regarding therelease ofSeason2 of the series.

Also streaming on Amazon Prime Video this week is the season 4  of Japanese Comedy Series Documental.

Produced by Hitoshi Matsumoto, Documental pits ten comedians against each other. The objective is to make each other laugh in a closed room. Each contestant brings a one million yen participation fee. The last person to stay in the room without laughing wins. The winner is awarded a 10 million yen prize and bragging rights as the funniest comedian.

This week will also see streaming of season 1 of the Brazilian series Dom.

Created by Breno Silvera, Dom tells the story of Pedro, a handsome boy from Rio de Janeiro's middle class who is introduced to cocaine in his teen years, putting him on the path to becoming the leader of a criminal gang that dominated the tabloids in Rio in the early 2000s: Pedro Dom. Shifting between action, adventure and drama, Dom also follows Pedro's father Victor Dantas, who as a teenager, makes a discovery at the bottom of the sea, reports it to the authorities and ends up joining the police intelligence service. The series shows the journey of father and son living opposite lives, often mirroring and complementing each other, while both confront situations which blur the lines between right and wrong.

Dom features  Gabriel Leone, Flávio Tolezani and  Filipe Bragança |in key roles.
