The Family Man trailer garners 50 mn views in just 6 days,Manoj Bajpayee thrilled

Ahead of its premiere on Amazon Prime Video on June 4, the season 2 of the popular action thriller web series The Family Man continues to create buzz among audiences with the trailer of the show garnering 50 million views in just six days of its release.

Notwithstanding the controversies surrounding the web series,  including the protests over the alleged depiction of Tamilians as terrorists,  the trailer of The Family Man has been grabbing eyeballs.

The cast and the crew of the web series, that takes viewers through the story of intelligence officer Srikant Tiwari who tries to balance his family life along with his stressful job of battling enemies of the Nation , is thrilled over the response to the trailer.

Reacting to the audience response to the trailer, the lead actor of the series Manoj Bajpayee said, 'this is too overwhelming for all of us!!! Thank you  for 50M. .'

Amazon Prime Video has announced that the season 2 of The Family Man will be streamed from  June 4.

The streaming platform had last week unveiled a poster of the web series , that   featured Manoj Bajpayee and Samantha Akkineni. The poster featured  Samantha Akkineni in a bruised look, giving  a peek into more intriguing twists and turns in the season 2 of the show.

The Family Man 2 has also been generating controversies since the release of its trailer with some parties from Tamil Nadu demanding its ban for allegedly portraying Tamilians as terrorists.

Earlier this week,  MDMK leader and Rajya Sabha MP Vaiko wrote to Information and Broadcasting minister Prakash Javadekar , demanding that its release on Amazon Prime Video be stopped  as it allegedly portrays Tamil people as terrorists.

In a letter to Mr Javadekar,  Vaiko said that the trailer of The Family Man 2,  recently released on social media, depicts Tamilians as terrorists and ISI agents and having links with Pakistan.

Earlier, on Saturday,  Naam Tamilar Katchi, a political party in Tamil Nadu considering LTTE founder V Prabhakaran as its idol,  demanded a ban on the series for its alkeged portrayal of the LTTE as terrorists .

In a statement , NTK chief co coordinator Senthamizah Seeman said that the series should be banned as it portrays Tamizh people as terrorists.

Produced by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D K, the season 2 of The Family Man will see Manoj Bajpayee reprise his role of intelligence officer Srikant Tiwari ,  with Samantha Akkineni, Priyamani, Sharib Hashmi and Shreya Dhanwantary featuring in pivotal roles

Season 2 of show will also mark the digital debut of actor Samantha Akkineni. In the series, Samantha essays the role of Raji, a new nemesis of Srikant Tiwari, played by Manoj Bajpayee. She plays a Sri Lankan Tamilian.

The Family Man , created and visualized by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D K,revolves around a middle-class man named Srikant, who works for a special cell of the National Investigation Agency (NIA). The series explores Srikant's life  as he strives to strike a balance between his high-pressure, high-stakes job and being a husband and a father.

After season 1 of  The Family Man released last year on Amazon Prime Video, kept the viewers intrigued with its various twists and turns and had them on the edge of their seats, there has beenalot if curiosity regarding therelease ofSeason2 of the series.

The makers had earlier hinted at a February release of the Season 2 of the popular action thriller web series, which features Manoj Bajpayee in the lead role of an intelligence officer.

However,  in February,  makers of the popular web series said that season 2 will ts release in Summer of 2021.
