Dialogue writer Subodh Chopra dies of Covid related complications

Screenplay and Dialogue writer and filmmaker Subodh Chopra, who wrote dialogues for films like the Emraan Hashmi starrer Murder , the Irrfan Khan-starrer Rog and Tumsa Nahin Dekha, has died in Mumbai of Covid-19 related complications.

Subodh Chopra,  who had written dialogues for many of the films and television shows produced and directed by Mahesh Bhatt, died due to cardiac arrest at a hospital in Mumbai on Friday night.

Chopra had recovered from Covid-19 but had to be readdmitted to hospital after his oxygen levels dropped.

The second wave of COVID-19,  which has witnessed an unprecedented surge in covid cases in the country over the last month, has claimed the lives of several celebrities from the world of entertainment.

In recent weeks, actors Bikramjeet Kanwarpal,  Abhilasha Patil and Satish Kaul,  music composer Shravan rathod, You Tuber Rahul Vohra and film editor Ajay Sharma have lost their lives due to Covid.

The country has recorded over 3 lakh covid cases in the last three weeks .

Several celebrities from the world of entertainment and politics have in recent weeks been infected with the coronavirus infection.

These include former Congress president Rahul Gandhi,  former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh,  Kerala chief minister Pinari Vijayan,  Karnataka chief minister B S Yeddyurappa   , actors Aamir khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia bhatt, Sanjay Leela Bhansali,  Satish Kaushik  Akshay Kumar,  television Actor Hina Khan,  Rupali Ganguly and Aditya Narayan.

A renowned screenplay and dialogue writer,  Subodh Chopra has written the screenplay for the popular Zee TV series Rishtey.. He also wrote the Dialogue for the popular docudrama series Haqeeqat.

Later, he wrote screenplay and dialogues for several films made under the banner of Vishesh films like 'Murder', 'Tumsa Nahin Dekha' and  ROG,.

He also wrote dialogues for the award winning film 'Dobara' Directed By Shashi Ranjan.

Chopra also directed several Episodes of Savdhan India for SAREGAMA films.
He also directed 'Vasudha' a Malayalam feature film, starring Geeta Nair, Vijayan Menon and Kaithaparam as lyricist and music Director.
