After an intriguing powerplay in season 1 , S 2 of the political thriller  promises another engrossing political drama.

Into the second season of City of Dreams, the drama notches up as the feud increases within the Gaikwad family with Poornima Gaikwad and her father, Ameya Rao Gaikwad locking horns to claim their power.

Poornima is now the interim Chief Minister and the head of Maharashtra Jan Shakti Party (MJS), which she now wishes to control.

Soon Ameya Rao Gaikwad realizes that it will not be an easy task to override his daughter who has learned politics at his feet and so to outwit her, he plans to do the unexpected and unpredictable.

Mayanagari- City of Dreams S2  promises to pique the  curiosity of the viewers with its unpredictable twists and turns in the feud within the Gaikwad family.

The trailer of the series , unveiled by Disney Hotstar earlier this month, gave viewers a peek into an engaging political drama in City of Dreams 2 

Produced by Applause Entertainment in association with Kukunoor Movies, the second instalment boasts off a gripping storyline and is headlined by a talented ensemble of actors including Atul Kulkarni and Priya Bapat,  who assay the onscreen father daughter duo of Amey Rao Gaikwad and Poornima Gaikwad.

The series, directed by ace filmmaker Nagesh Kukunoor, also features Eijaz Khan, Sachin Pilgaonkar and Sushant Singh.

Season 1 of City of Dreams took viewers through the feud within the Gaikwad family, which erupts after an assassination attempt on a head of the family Amey Rao Gaikwad, a political figure. A struggle for power,blurring the lines between moral and immoral, formed the core of narrative of the show.

An early drop in the genre of political dramas on OTT , Mayanagari- City of Dreams had opened to a stupendous audience response as a show packed with emotions and politics.

Set in the bylanes of Mayanagari Mumbai, the show highlights how state politics can lead to feud in family and alter equations before you know.

The series features Atul Kulkarni as Amey Rao Gaikwad and Priya Bapat as Poornima Rao Gaikwad, daughter of Amey Rao Gaikwad, who considers herself as his  worthy successor .

Season 2 is an interesting addition to the genre of political thrillers this year after the Saif Ali Khan starrer Tandav on Amazon Prime Video and the Huma Qureshi starrer Maharani streamed  on  SonyLIV.
