My experience in Bollywood has been surreal: Manushi Chhillar


The former Miss World says she is loving her life in films

She grabbed attention of viewers with her debut as Sanyogita in the period epic Samrat Prithviraj,  which released in cinemas last year.

After an impressive debut in Samrat Prithviraj,  former Miss World Manushi Chhillar is back to entertaining cinelovers with the comedy drama The Great Indian Family,  which released in cinemas last month.

Notwithstanding a mixed response to her foray in Bollywood,  Manushi Chhillar says that she is loving her life in films. For the model turned actress,  being a part of the arclights is a surreal feeling.

'My experience in Bollywood has been Surreal! I love the life I’m building and I hope more people het the chance to pursue their dreams and build their life, without any fear,'Manushi said in a chat with her fans on social media.

Talking about her latest film The Great Indian Family,  where she could stars with Bollywood actor Vicky Kaushal,  Manushi said that being on the sets of the film was a fun.

'Being on the sets of The Great Indian Family was fun. It is the most fun I’ve had on a film set,'she said.

On her experience of working with Vijay Krishna Acharya, who earlier directed Tashan, Dhoom 3 and Thugs of Hindostan,, Manushi said,'Vijay Krishna Acharya sir spent a month with me practising hindi cuss words .'

At the same time,  Manushi raves about her experience of working with Yash Raj Films , producers of her debut film Samrat Prithviraj and that of The Great Indian Family

'Yashraj Films is the best production house I’ve worked with! I love how respectful they are towards everyone, actors, their teams, technicians etc. For me, Yashraj Films is extra special since they launched me with Samrat Prithviraj, 'Manushi said.

She may have been among the fortunate few  to be launched with a production house like Yashraj Films but Manushi Chhillar feels she has a long way to go as an actor.

'I feel that you need to go with the flow and stop thinking and planning so much. 
Make the best out of what life gives you. Acting is a skill that has to be practised,'she said.

Manushi rose to fame after winning the title of Femina Miss India World 2017 . She then went on to become the sixth representative from India to be crowned Miss World after 17 years.

After winning the Miss World crown, Manushi Chhillar signed a three-film deal contract with Yash Raj Films. She  made her debut with Samrat Prithviraj as the Princess of Kannauj, Sanyogita, Prithviraj's wife. She starred alongside Akshay Kumar, who portrayed the titular role Prithviraj.

Manushi recently appeared in The Great Indian Family, a comedy film backed by Yashraj Films. In the film,  she stars opposite Vicky Kaushal.

The Great  Indian Family is the story of a religious Hindu man who goes through a crisis when he comes to know that he is actually a Muslim by birth.

Written and directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya and produced by Aditya Chopra under the banner of Yash Raj Films, The  Great  Indian Family stars Vicky Kaushal as a religious, Hindu Pandit who is revealed to be Muslim by birth.

The film stars  Manushi Chhillar as the female lead . It stars Manoj Pahwa, and Kumud Mishra in supporting roles.

Manushi Chhillar will next be seen alongside John Abraham in Dinesh Vijan's Tehran.
