Lauding the spirit of resilience of the people of the country amidst one of the deadlines phases of the Covid pandemic which has witnessed an unprecedented surge in covid cases in the country,  resulting in a severe strain on the healthcare system- an acute shortage of oxygen supply, medical equipment and hospital beds,  former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen has expressed confidence that we will all together come out of this phase.

In an emotional post on social media,  Sushmita Sen lauded the work being done by frontline Covid warriors and volunteers relentlessly fighting against the state of helplessness seen across the Nation .

Sushmita Sen said that she is overwhelmed to see people from all walks of life stepping forward to help each other amidst the second wave of COVID-19 which has left thousands of Covid-19 affected people struggling due to shortage of exygen, medical supplies and hospital beds while lakhs of migrants struggle to make a living.

'My heart goes out to people who are fighting for a single breath...mourning the loss of loved ones...struggling to make a living...the plight of daily wage workers...all our covid warriors both medical a volunteers relentlessly fighting helplessness .

And yet, the human spirit prevails EVERY SINGLE TIME!!

Its overwhelming to say the least, to witness people from all walks of life, all faiths, all geographies stepping forward to help each other through this pandemic UNCONDITIONALLY...driven purely by empathy and humanity!!.,'Sushmita sen said.

Lauding the work being done by frontline Covid warriors and volunteers to provide succor to those facing shortage of oxygen, medical supplies and hospital beds in the, the former Miss Universe said, 'I am blessed to be surrounded by fans, family, friends and healthcare workers who have been tirelessly helping me to aid others...even if one life at a time. I salute all you people doing your bit...it’s helping more lives than you will ever know!!!'

She expressed confidence that given our spirit of resilience,  we will will all together come out through this phase,

'We each have our challenges, some tougher than the others...but, get through this...WE WILL...TOGETHER!!!,,'she said.

Calling on people not to indulge in a blame game during this hour of crisis,  she said, 'Let’s not waste a single moment playing the blame game, for that moment, can be better utilised doing everything WE can to save a life Every life is precious...we must not get used to it being reduced to a death toll number..'

Urging people to follow covid appropriate behaviors to protect themselves from Corona virus infection,  she said, 'Please stay safe, stay healthy, stay clean, try to keep a calm state of mind, wear the mask and respect the rules...for that, which may look like a cage, could actually be a shield to protect our lives!!

Recent weeks have witnessed an unprecedented surge in covid cases in the country. 

The country has witnessed over 3 lakh cases daily during the last 7 days, resulting in an acute shortage of hospitals beds,  medical supplies and oxygen cylinders in various areas of the country. 

Amid an unprecedented surge in covid cases in the country, Celebrities and people from all walks of life have been making efforts to ensure relief for people affected by covid by ensuring timely supply of medical supplies and oxygen cylinders to hospitals.

Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra last week started a fundraiser to help build infrastructure to fight Covid in India to provide relief for lakhs of people affected by the virus infection.

In a video appeal issued on social media,  Priyanka Chopra sought donations from people for covid relief.  She said that the donations will go directly into providing Healthcare physical infrastructure (including covid care centres, isolation centres and oxygen generation plants), medical equipment and medicine support and mobilization.



Recently, actor Aansh Arora provided 1000 oxygen BPC flow meter cylinder kits to the needy people in Delhi and Gurgaon.

Doing his  bit to provide succor to people hit by the Covid-19 second wave, Aansh Arora has been providing oxygen cylinders and others medical equipments.

He is using his social media instagram and facebook @aanshharora to reach to amplify calls for help.
