Aamir khan & Viswanathan Anand join hands with  Akshaya Patra to help needy during Covid pandemic

Superstar  Aamir Khan and Indian Chess grandmaster Vishvanathan Anand have joined hands with the Akshaya Patra Foundation to feed the neddy during the Covid pandemic.

Aamir khan , an ardent chess lover,will be virtually playing an exhibition match against the Indian chess grandmaster and former world champion,  Viswanathan Anand  on June 13  as part of a celebrity event be live streamed on the YouTube Channel, Chesscom India.

This celebrity edition,held in association with The Akshaya Patra Foundation, shall feature Bollywood celebrities and Corporate leaders from across the nation. All proceeds of this event will go towards serving individuals and families from vulnerable communities who have been affected by this global pandemic.

Aamir khan and Vishwanathan Anand are latest in the list of celebrities from the world of entertainment,  sports and other areas who have come forward to lend support to the poor and needy during the Covid pandemic.

Amid the worsening covid situation,  several celebrities from the world of entertainment , including Sonu sood,  Sonam Kapoor,  Anushka Sharma,  Priyanka Chopra, Varun Dhawan,  Manjari Fadnis, Jacqueline Fernandez and Ajay Devgn have been coming forward to provide succour to the people hit by Covid by raising money to provide relief to them and by providing them information on hospital beds,  vaccination centres and oxygen generation plants.

Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma and Virat Kihli in April initiated a campaign 'In This Together 'to raise funds for Covid relief.

Jacqueline Fernandez had last month announced launch of Yolo Foundation to spread kindness during the ongoing crisis. Yolo Foundation that has partnered with several NGOs to provide help to people hit by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The last few months have seen a sharp surge in Covid cases in the country., leading to acute shortage of oxygen supply,  hospital beds and life saving medicines.
