Kannada comedy Ikkat on changing relationships during lockdown streams on Amazon Prime Video

Kannada romantic comedy Ikkat, which is based on the changing relationship between husband and wife during the Covid pandemic and the lockdown. Is streaming on Amazon Prime Video from today.

A comedy drama set against the backdrop of the ongoing pandemic., Ikkat ,
which means ‘congestion’ or ‘to be in a tight situation’, much like the lockdown, is a witty bag of laughs which follows the lives of an unhappily married couple who are on the verge of getting a divorce.

With the announcement of the 21-day lockdown in India, they are left with no choice but to forcibly spend time with each other.

The film follows the daily routine of this couple stuck together who begin to experience some unprecedented surprises that pepper their lives from time to time. Seemingly mundane instances like a neighbor borrowing some ‘essential’ items, are amusingly brought out through dialogues and stupendous comic timing of the artists throughout the movie.

Ikkat stars  Nagabhushana and Bhoomi Shetty in the lead  while RJ Viki, Sundar Veena, Anand Ninasam and Naveen Chethana feature in pivotal roles.

Ikkat has been directed by Esham and Haseen Khan., who previously directed a web series called Loose Connection and the yet-to-be-released Hate You Romeo,. They also worked as editors on the Kannada film, Run Antony (2016). 

Ikkat is the brothers’ first feature film

Directors Esham and Haseen Khan weave in humour in the mundane lockdown life of the  almost  divorced couplew who are forced to be holed up together because of the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown. Cabin fever gets the best of them and hilarious situations ensue

While Nagabhushana has previously appeared in films like French Biryani, U Turn and Ondalla Eradalla, Bhoomi makes her Sandalwood debut with Ikkat.
