Romance, comedy, youth & action dramas to entertain on OTT next week

With stay at home becoming the new normal amid the continuing threat of the Covid pandemic and digital becomes the new destination for entertainment lovers , a eclectic mix of web series and films are set to entertain viewers on various OTT platforms .
A mix of romantic dramas, comedies , youth and action dramas will entertain viewers on various digital platforms in the coming week.
Scheduled to stream on OTT in the coming week are Telugu action drama Narappa, Kannada romantic comedy Ikkat, Tamil period drama Sarpatta Parambarai, Anthologies Chutzpah and feels like ishq, coming of age youth comedy drama Hostel Daze and comedies Hungama 2 and 4 phere.
Narappa on Amazon Prime Video
Scheduled for premiere on Amazon Prime Video on July 20 is Telugu period action drama Narappa, which is a film about caste conflict.
Directed by Srikanth Addal, Narappa, a remake of the Tamil-language film Asuran (2019), stars Venkatesh, Priyamani and Karthik Rathnam in key roles and Rao Ramesh, Naasar and Rajsekhar Aningi in supporting roles.
Narappa has been jointly produced by Kalaipuli S. Thanu and D. Suresh Babu under their respective banners V. Creations and Suresh Productions.
Narappa was scheduled to release on May 14 but was postponed due to the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic The makers later decided to release the film directly on OTT.
Ahead of its release on Amazon Prime Video, , producer Suresh Babu said,'the film's core message is very powerful. It does not shy away from the truths. I am certain that it will impact in ways that no one would expect. I am incredibly happy that we are able to showcase our film to audiences across 240 countries and territories.'

Also scheduled for premiere on July 21 on Amazon Prime Video is Kannada romantic comedy Ikkat, which is based on the changing relationship between husband and wife during the Covid pandemic and the lockdown.
Ikkat is story of a couple who constantly bicker, but are forced to be holed up together because of the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown. Cabin fever gets the best of them and hilarious situations ensue
Ikkat stars Nagabhushana NS and Bhoomi Shetty in the lead.

Sarpatta Parambarai on Amazon Prime Video
July 22 will see the release of Tamil Language period drama Sarpatta Parambarai on Amazon Prime Video.
Directed by Pa. Ranjith, who also co-produced the film under his banner Neelam Productions, along with Shanmugam Dhakshanaraj of K9 Studios, Sarpatta Parambarai stars Arya, Dushara Vijayan, Pasupathy, Anupama Kumar and Sanchana Natarajan.
Set during the 1980s, the film revolves around a clash between two clans namely Idiyappa Parambarai and Sarpatta Parambarai in North Chennai, which also showcases the boxing culture in the locality and also the politics being involved in it.
Sarpatta Parambarai was initially scheduled for theatrical release, but later the makers decided to directly release it on OTT due to prevailing uncertainty on reopening of theatres across India due to Covid-19 pandemic.
The film has already made a business of Rs 35 crore prior to its release, including the satellite television rights and Hindi dubbing rights of the film.

The film was originally slated for release on August 12 during the Independence Day weekend. However, on 8 July 2021, Amazon Prime Video India announced a series of the original shows and contents for the platform's July release, to coincide the Prime Day celebrations, with Sarpatta Parambarai being scheduled for release on July 22.

Anthology Chutzpah on Sony Liv
The coming week will also see the release of Anthologies Chutzpah on Sony Liv and feels like Ishq on Netflix.
Chutzpah, an anthology that explores internet culture through five interconnected stories, releases on Sony Liv on July 23.
Produced by Maddock Outsider, Chutzpah features Fukrey stars Varun Sharma and Manjot Singh along with Gautam Mehra, Tanya Maniktala, Elnaaz Norouzi and Kshitij Chauhan.
The coming week will also see the release of Anthologies Chutzpah on Sony Liv and feels like Ishq on Netflix.

Also releasing on Netflix on July 23 is the anthology Feels like ishq, which is centered on the theme of the cute feeling of 'love-at-first-sight' between two strangers.
Feels Like Ishq comprises meet-cute stories from directors Ruchir Arun, Tahira Kashyap Khurrana, Anand Tiwari, Danish Aslam, Jaydeep Sarkar, Sachin Kundalkar.
It will feature an ensemble cast that includes popular actors like Radhika Madan, Amol Parashar, Neeraj Madhav, Tanya Maniktala, Kajol Chug, Mihir Ahuja, Simran Jehani, Rohit Saraf, Saba Azad, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, Zayn Khan and Skand Thakur.
Devrath Sagar is the creative director of Feel Like Ishq, which has been produced by Mutant Films and Awesomeness TV.

Joining the list of OTT releases this Summer is Priyadarshan's Hungama 2, which will be released on Disney Hotstar on July 23.
Being produced by Venus Records and Tapes, Hungama 2, a sequel to the 2013 hit Hungama, features Shilpa Shetty, Pranati Subhas, Paresh Rawal, Manoj Jishi, Meehan Jaffry and Rajpal Yadav in key roles.
A sequel to the 2013 hit Hungama, Hungama 2 was scheduled to hit theatres in August. However, amid uncertainty on reopening of theatres due to restrictions in various states still not completely eased due to continuing cases of Covid-19 and the looming threat of a third wave.
Infact, the makers of the film had earlier indicated that they could go for an OTT release of the film.
The 2013 film starred Paresh Rawal, Shoma Anand, Akshay Khanna, Aftab Shivdasani in lpivotal ro,es.
Paresh Rawal will be returning in the sequel.

After the action thriller State of Seige Temple attack, Zee5 streaming platform will next week premiere 14 Phere, a social comedy which tells the story of a boy and girl from different communities trying to get married by arranging a fake set of parent.
Sanjay, a Rajput from Jahanabad, which is known for honour killings. He is in love with Aditi, a Jat from Jaipur whose father and elder brother will kill to keep their honour. Both are very close to their families, yet they want to get married.
In order to live together, they plan to con their families by arranging a set of fake parents and reliable allies so that Sanjay can show Aditi as a Rajput girl and Aditi can show Sanjay as a Jat boy to get married before eloping to the US. Will they manage to make it?
