Akshay Kumar 's Bell Bottom to have a theatrical release worldwide on August 19

With the easing of Covid restrictions in various states  paving way for reopening of cinema halls across the country,  Akshay Kumar's action thriller Bell Bottom is set to release in theatres worldwide on August 19.

The makers of the film,  which was earlier scheduled to release in theatres on July 27, today announced a new release date for the film at August 19.

Directed by Ranjit M Tewari,  Bell Bottom stars Akshay Kumar in the lead role of a RAW agent.

Makers of the film Pooja entertainment and Emmay entertainment had earlier announced July 27 as the theatrical release date for the movie.

However,  the film could not release on the scheduled date amid the uncertainty on reopening of theatres across India.

One of the most awaited films this year, Bell Bottom has been directed by Ranjit M Tewari and produced by Pooja Entertainment and Emmay Entertainment.

 Bell Bottom stars Akshay Kumar in the lead with Vaani Kapoor, Lara Dutta and Huma Qureshi in other prominent roles.

The sharp spurt in COVID-19 cases in the country in last few months had led to postponement of release of mega starrers Haathi Mere Saathi, Bunty Aur Babli2,  Chehre, Sooryavanshi and Satyamev Jayate 2.

However,  with the Covid cases in the country taking a dip in the last few weeks, various state  governments have allowed  reopening of theatres  at 50 per cent occupancy .

Governments in Delhi  and Maharashtra have allowed reopening of theatres with 50 per cent occupancy following a continuous dip in covid-19 cases.

While Delhi government has allowed reopening of theatres across the state, Maharashtra government has allowed reopening of theatres in several districts and is expected to allow reopening of cinema halls in other districts in the coming days.

Governments  of other states like West Bengal and  Madhya Pradesh have also  allowed reopening of theatres in the states at 50 per cent occupancy. 


Infact, makers of Punjabi films and Hollywood films like Mortal Combat have announced release of these films on the Independence Day weekend.
