Shaheer Sheikh to join Ankita Lokhande in S 2 of Pavitra Rishta, shoot for series begins

The iconic television show Pavitra Rishta,  which brought the late Sushant Singh Rajput into limelight,  returns for a second season with small screen heartthrob Shaheer Sheikh joining Ankita Lokhande in the lead role.

Shooting for the Season 2 of Pavitra Rishta, which will be streamed on Alt Balaji soon, began yesterday , the streaming platform said.

Sharing the announcement on its social media handle,  Alt Balaji said, 'Sometimes in most ordinary lives, we find the most extraordinary love stories!

A  love story of  middle class girl Archana and motor mechanic Manav Deshmukh,  Pavitra Rishta began airing on Zee TV in 2009 and over a period of time became an iconic show on Indian television. 

The show, which became one of the most popular shows on Indian television,   brought Sushant Singh Rajput into limelight.  It also revived the flagging fortunes of Balaji telefilms of Ekta Kapoor.

Pavitra Rishta received several awards and nominations. Ankita  Lokhande and Sushant Singh Rajput  received multiple awards for their roles Archana and Manav in the Best Actress and Best Actor categories.
