Saunkan Saunkane earns Rs 16.5 cr in opening week,  is 2nd highest grossing Punjabi film post pandemic

Continuing its strong run at the box office in India, Punjabi film Saunkan Saunkane earned Rs 16.5 cr in its opening week in India,  becoming the second highest grossing Punjabi film post the Covid pandemic.

Saunkan Saunkane, which released in a limited number of screens in India,  set records by collecting Rs 16.5 cr in its opening week.  It has now become the second highest grossing Punjabi film post the Covid pandemic.

The film has done excellent business in Delhi and NCR and Punjab,  screening to house full boards in theatres across Punjab.

Infact,  of the Rs 16.5 cr earnings in its opening week,  Rs 13.5 cr came from Punjab alone.

With crowds thronging to the theatres for watching the film,  Saunkan Saunkane could soon become the highest grossing Punjabi film post the Covid pandemic.

Saunkan Saunkane took a rocking start at the box office with collection of Rs 2.25 cr on irs opening day and earned Rs 11.42cr in its opening weekend.

The collection of the film have come across as a morale booster to the Punjabi film industry which has been witnessing poor collections over the past few months.

Infact,the film,  which stars Ammy Virk, Sargun Mehta and Nimrat Khaira in lead roles, earned Rs 1.8 cr from Punjab alone on its opening day.  It has become the Punjabi film with the highest opening in Punjab post the pandemic, surpassing the earnings of Qismat 1 and Qismat 2.

Directed by Amarjit Singh Saron,  Saunkan Saunkane is the story of a couple who failed to have a child despite more than 6 years of their marriage.

Having lost hope for a child, the man, on insistence of his wife, marries her sister. Shortly small squabbles between the two wives lead to comic situations.

Directed by Amarjit Singh Saron, the film, made under the banner of Naad SStudios, Dreamiyata Pvt. Ltd and JR Production House, stars Ammy Virk, Sargun Mehta and Nimrat Khaira in lead roles.

One of the most awaited films of the year, Saunkan Saunkane has  generated tremendous buzz among cinegoers ahead of its release due to its posters and trailer.
