Saunkan Saunkane earns Rs 11.5 cr in its opening weekend across India

Continuing its strong run at the box office in india, Punjabi film Saunkan Saunkane earned at whopping Rs 11.5 cr in india, creating a record for the highest earning Punjabi film post the Covid pandemic.

Saunkan Saunkane,which took a rocking start at the box office with collection of Rs 2.25 cr on irs opening day, saw a sharp jump in its earnings on Saturday, Sunday and the holiday of budh purnima on Monday, taking its earnings in the opening weekend to Rs 11.42 cr.

The film, which stars Ammy Virk, sargun Mehta and Nimrat Khaira in the lead roles has created a record for the highest earning Punjabi film post the Covid pandemic.

The collection of Rs 11.42 cr for the film in its opening weekend are commendable considering that the film released to limited screens across India.

Saunkan Saunkane has done excellent business in Punjabi where it opened to House Full boards in theatres.

The collection of the film have come across as a morale booster to the Punjabi film industry which has been witnessing poor collections over the past few months.

Saunkan Saunkne,  a comedy about happenings when a person marries his wife's sister after failing to have a child for six years of marriage,  is rocking the box office in India with earnings of Rs 2.25 cr on its opening day.

The film, which released on limited cinema screens on May 13, has been  drawing huge crowds at cinema halls in Punjab.

Infact,the film,  which stars Ammy Virk, Sargun Mehta and Nimrat Khaira in lead roles, earned Rs 1.8 cr from Punjab alone on its opening day.  It has become the Punjabi film with the highest opening in Punjab post the pandemic, surpassing the earnings of Qismat 1 and Qismat 2.

Directed by Amarjit Singh Saron,  Saunkan Saunkne is the story of a couple who failed to have a child despite more than 6 years of their marriage.

Having lost hope for a child, the man, on insistence of his wife, marries her sister. Shortly small squabbles between the two wives lead to comic situations.

Directed by Amarjit Singh Saron, the film, made under the banner of Naad SStudios, Dreamiyata Pvt. Ltd and JR Production House, stars Ammy Virk, Sargun Mehta and Nimrat Khaira in lead roles.

One of the most awaited films of the year, Saunkan Saunkne has  generated tremendous buzz among cinegoers ahead of its release due to its posters and trailer.

The film was screened to house full boards across Punjab on its opening day.
