Continuing with its good run at the box office in India, Sooraj Barjatya's Uunchai earned Rs 15.5 cr from across India in its first six days
After showing sharp growth in its earnings during the opening weekend, Uunchai, which stars Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam kher, Doman Irani and Danny Denzongpa in lead roles, maintained steady earnings on the week days.
Uunchai, which had collections of Rs 11 cr on its opening weekend despite releasing on a limited number of cinema screens (453) in India, maintained steady collections on the week days on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
The film has earned Rs 15.5 cr in its first six days. It is expected to earn around Rs 17 cr in its opening week.

Trade experts said that the collections of the film in its opening week are commendable considering that Uunchai released on limited cinema screens across India and oversees.
The film, produced by Rajshri Films, released on just 453 cinema screens across India on November 11, much less than the number of screens on which big starrers have been released in recent months.
Sooraj Barjatya's Uunchai, a story of the deep bond of friendship between three friends, has brought cheer to the film trade after a lacklustre run by last week's releases Phone Bhoot and Mili.
Trade experts say that the film has brought audiences, especially the family audiences, back to the theatres after a poor show by films released over the last few months, barring the Ranbir Kapoor Alia Bhatt starrer Brahmastra.
After earning Rs 1.7 cr on its opening day, Uunchai saw tremendous growth on its second day on Saturday to Rs 3.25 cr and to Rs 5.5 cr on Sunday, taking the film's opening weekend earnings to Rs 11 cr.
The collections of the film are seen as remarkable by trade experts considering that Uunchai released on limited cinema screens in India and oversees, a conscious strategy followed by Rajshri Productions, similar to one followed during the release of Maine Pyar Kiya and Hum Aapke Hain Kaun.
Trade experts said that the film saw almost doubling of its collections on its second day, compared to its opening day, especially in places like Mumbai and Delhi and NCR.
A story of three friends (played by Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam kher and Boman Irani), who decide to undertake a trek on the Mount Everest in the memory of their late friend (Danny Denzongpa), Uunchai released in cinemas on November 11.
As part of a conscious strategy, Rajshri Productions released the film on just 453 cinema screens across India in sharp contrast to big starrers releasing in over 1000 cinema screens across India.
A similar strategy followed by Rajshri Films during the release of Maine Pyaar Kiya and Hum Aapke Hain Kaun paid rich dividends with these films showing a sharp increase in their earnings with each passing day.
With many of its subsequent films, Rajshri Films reverted to the strategy followed by other filmmakers.
Written and directed by Sooraj Barjatya, Uunchai, jointly produced by Rajshri Films, Boundless Media and Mahaveer Jain Films, stars Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher, Boman Irani, Parineeti Chopra, Neena Gupta, Sarika and Danny Denzongpa.
Loosely based on Graham Swifts Booker Prize winning novel Last Orders(1996), Uunchai marks Sooraj Barjatya's return to direction after a gap of seven years since Prem Ratan Dhan Paayo, which released in cinemas in 2015.
The film is the journey of four friends-Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam kher, Doman Irani and Danny Denzongpa. During a conversation between the four friends, Danny Denzongpa suggests that they should climb Mount Everest together.
However, Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam kher and Boman Irani reject the idea, citing their old age. However, after their friend Bhuvan (Danny Denzongpa) dies, his friends decide to undertake a trek to the Mount Everest as a tribute to their late friend and to celebrate their friendship.
Uunchai is the first Rajshri Productions film that stars Amitabh Bachchan and Parineeti Chopra.
With Uunchai, Sooraj Barjatya is returning to direction after a gap of seven years since Prem Ratan Dhan Paayo, which starred Salman Khan, Sonam Kapoor and Anupam kher in key roles.
