Kajol joins the OTT bandwagon,  makes her digital debut with web series The Trial on Disney Hotstar

After Sonakshi Sinha's successful debut on OTT last month with crime thriller Dahaad,  the latest to jump aboard the OTT bandwagon is Bollywood actress Kajol, who makes her digital debut with the web series The Trial on Disney Hotstar next month.

An engaging courtroom drama, The Trial, which  premieres  on  Disney  Hotstar  on July  14, is the story of housewife Noyanika Sengupta,  who is forced to take up a job as a lawyer after her husband is accused of accepting  sexual favours as bribes to change verdicts.

Produced by Ajay Devgn films and Banjay Asia,  The Trial stars Kubbra Sait, Alyssa Khan, Flora Saini, Jisshu Sengupta and Manasvi Mamgai in pivotal roles.

Kajol is the latest Bollywood celebrity to make her OTT debut this year, after Anil Kapoor in The Night Manager and Sonakshi Sinha in Dahaad.

The series has been produced by Deepak Dhar,  Richie Taneja and Vijay Rammurat Tiwari and directed by Suparn Verma.

The web series is an Indian adaptation of the American series The Good Wife, .

Kajol was last seen in the social drama Salaam Venky,  directed by Revathy.

She will also be seen in the Netflix series Lust Stories 2.
