Shoot for S 2 of Sci fi thriller Asur begins, Arshad Warsi excited

After a successful season 1 last year, the thriller web series Asur returns for a second season on Voot streaming platform.

Shooting for season 2 of the series,  which is a mix of mythology and science fiction, began in Mumbai today.

Season 2 will see actors from the season  1- Arshad Warsi,  Barun Sobti, Ridhi Dogra, Anupriya Goenka and Sharib Hashmi-reprise their roles from season 1.

Speaking about the new season,  Arshad Warsi,  who will reprise his role of Dhananjay Singh from the first season,  said that he is excited and eagerly looking forward to the audience response to the second season.

'I am overjoyed to start shooting again. As far as my career goes, Asur is one of the best things that has happened to me. It was my digital debut and with season 1 being a huge-hit, I am very excited to see how people will respond to our new season.

As we start shooting again, the entire team is motivated and is working extremely hard to take season 2 to the next level. When you have a successful first season, there is always a sense of pressure and nervousness. But that is the best kind of pressure, which keeps you motivated to deliver better and bring out the best in all of us,'Arshad Warsi said.

Produced by Tanveer Bookwala of Ding Entertainment for Voot  streaming platform, Asur is set in the context of a modern day serial killer having religious ties. Arshad Warsi made his OTT debut through this series.

Directed by Oni Sen, Asur deals with the battle between good and evil, 

Set in the backdrop of the mystical city of Varanasi, Asur follows Nikhil Nair(Barun Sobti) a forensic-expert-turned-teacher, who returns to his roots at the Central Bureau of Investigation, and along with his former mentor Dhananjay Rajpoot, finds himself caught in a cat-and-mouse game with a brutal serial killer.What follows is a blend of suspense, mythology and the murders of some people totally unrelated.

Season 1 of the show kept viewers hooked with a gripping story which was a  perfect blend of science fiction and mythology .
