Vidhu Vinod Chopra's brother Vir Chopra dies of Covid

Coronavirus continues to claim lives of celebrities from the world of entertainment.

Filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra's brother and Creative producer of films like Mission Kashmir, Kareeb, Ferrari Ki Sawari and Parineeta Vir Chopra is the latest to succumb to Coronavirus infection.

Trade sources said  Vir Chopra died at the H N Reliance hospital in Mumbai on Monday night after a long battle with Covid.

Vir Chopra , who had contracted Covid during a vacation to Maladives, was  admitted to the H N Reliance Hospital last month after he tested positive for the virus. He died after a 21 day battle with Coronavirus.

He is survived by his wife Namita and son Abhay Chopra.

The last rites of Vir Chopra were perfect on July 6.

Vir Chopra had worked with brother Vidhu Vinod Chopra on films like Munnabhai MBBS, Broken Horses, Lage Raho Munnabhai and 3 Idiots.

He was the creative producer of films like Mission Kashmir, Kareeb, Ferrari Ki Sawari , Parineeta and Eklavya

Vir Chopra's wife Namita is a sound designer while his son Abhay Chopra is an actor

In recent months,  several celebrities from the world of entertainment have succumbed to Coronavirus infection.

These include actor Bikramjjeet Kanwarpal, screenplay and diallogue writer Subodh Chopra, music composer Shravan Rathod, You Tuber Rahul Vohra, film producer Ryan Stephen, film editor Ajay Sharma and Casting Director Seher Latif.

Several celebrities from the world of entertainment and politics have in recent weeks been infected with the coronavirus infection.

These include former Congress president Rahul Gandhi,  former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh,  Kerala chief minister Pinari Vijayan,  Karnataka chief minister B S Yeddyurappa   , actors Aamir khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia bhatt, Sanjay Leela Bhansali,  Satish Kaushik  Akshay Kumar,  television Actor Hina Khan,  Rupali Ganguly and Aditya Narayan.
