Fans of Visakhapatnam girl Shanmukhapriya disappointed over her losing out on Indian Idol trophy |
Expressing surprise over Shanmukhapriya getting the sixth position in Indian Idol 12, many of her fans from South India said that she lost out because of being from a non Hindi speaking region.
Reacting to results of Indian Idol 12 where Uttarakhand boy Pawandeep Rajan emerged the winner while Arunita Kanjilal from Kolkata was the first runners up and Sayli Kamble from Mumbai was second runners up while Shanmukhapriya from Visakhapatnam came on the sixth position, Srikanth, a resident of Andhra Pradesh, said, 'unfortunately, Shanmukhapriya lost the Indian Idol trophy not because of her being any less talented but because she hailed from a non Hindi speaking region.
Her voice was the best among the Indian Idol 12 finalists. She is best suited to be a top playback singer. A large number of people from across India loved her voice. Unfortunately for her, she is from South India, a less Hindi spoken and heard place. It is a shame that she lost Not because of her talent but because of her region.'
Another Shanmukhapriya fan Vijay alleged that the Indian Idol 12 final was totally scripted.
'From the ranking on Indian Idol 2021 finale, we can clearly say that it's totally scripted. ShanmukhaPriya has been a consistent singer from the first day .
It boggles my mind as to how she got least votes among the six finalists. I wonder how Nihal and Sayli surpassed Shanmukhapriya in voting . I feel that the makers have showed partiality towards the other contestants. The final result shows their baisdness and hypocrisy towards Shanmukhapriya, 'Vijay said.
Many of Shanmukhapriya fans said that regardless of the results, for them Shanmukhapriya has been a winner.
Says Raju, a fan of Shanmukhapriya from Hyderabad,'it was for the first time that a Telugu girl ShanmukhaPriya reached the grand finale of Indian Idol. The finale of the show saw Telugu superstar Vijay Deverakonda give her an offer to sing in his forthcoming film.
Shanmukhapriya is a hardcore fan of Vijay Deverakonda. She earlier said that after grand finale her aim is to sing for a film of Vijay Deverakonda. And Vijay made her dream come true irrespective of her title.'
Venkatesh, another fan of Shanmukhapriya, said that regardless of the result, for him she was a winner.
'She might have won the title. But for me and for lakhs of Telugu people who are watching her from her childhood, she is our ROCKSTAR. No one can burn the stage like she does. Hope she gets loads of offers in Tollywood and Bollywood,'Venkatesh said.
Having music in her genes, Shanmukha, as Shanmukhapriya is lovingly referred to by her family and friends, derives her inspiration from her parents who themselves are musicians. Shanmukha’s mother is a music teacher while her father has his hands on Veena and Violin.
Shanmukha Priya made her debut from Zee Telugu Little Champs in 2008 and later took part in many other singing reality shows like Super Singer Junior on Tamil TV, Padutha Theeyaga Season 6, Telugu, The Voice India Kids in 2016 and Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs in 2017.
She also gave her voice to a song featured in the Telugu film “Tejam ''.
