The Akshay Kumar starrer Bell Bottom has reached the Rs 30 cr mark at the box office at the end of its fourth weekend in the cinemas.

Bell Bottom,  which released in theatres on August 19, earned approximately Rs 1.50 cr in its fourth weekend,  taking its total earnings to Rs 30.35 cr.

Though the film has had an average run at the box office,  it nevertheless has become the only film to earn Rs 30 crore during the pandemic,  after Baaghi 3, which released in March last year.

Bell Bottom earned Rs 18.72 c4 in its opening week,  Rs 7.31 cr in its second week and Rs 2.87 crore in its third week.

Despite a strong buzz created by its promos and trailer,  Bell Bottom had an average run at the box office,  which was attributed to the closure of cinema halls in Maharashtra, which forms a big market for Hindi films,  and the fact that theatres across India are operating at just 50 percent occupancy

After a four week run at the cinema halls,  Bell Bottom will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on September 16.

An Espionage thriller, Bell Bottom is about a officer from the secret service (code named  Bell Bottom) orchestrate an operation to rescue several people held hostage by four terrorists on a flight. One of the most awaited films this year, Bell Bottom has been directed by Ranjit M Tewari and produced by Pooja Entertainment and Emmay Entertainment.

Bell Bottom stars Akshay Kumar in the lead with Vaani Kapoor, Lara Dutta and Huma Qureshi in other prominent roles.

The film was earlier scheduled to release on July 27. However,  due to uncertainty on reopening of theatres,  Akshay Kumar announced that the film will release in cinemas on August 19.
