Pranutan Bahl impresses in Helmet, is looking to push the envelope as an actor

With her beautiful eyes and her infectious smile she reminds you of her grandmother and iconic Bollywood actress of the 60s Nutan.
Like her grandmother Nutan, who established a niche for herself as an actor of substance in the 60s with films traversing a wide variety of genres, Pranutan Bahl too has inherited her grandmother's trait of taking up new challenges as an actress.
For the actress, who is evoking praise for her performance in Helmet, a quirky comedy seeking to highlight an important social message, her choice of films seems to have been governed by her desire to try her hand at different and challenging roles .

'I want to establish myself as an actor who can do all kinds of roles rather than confining myself to roles in a particular genre of films.
As an artist I have always wanted to push the envelope and do something challenging and different,'Pranutan Bahl says.
Pranutan says that after Notebook, she was flooded with girl next door roles but she turned all of them.
Then , Helmet came her way .
'The moment I heard the script of Helmet, I knew that this is a film I really wanted to do. Helmet is a film whichbis very different from what I have done,'she said.
The actress says that the makers of the film have tried to convey a strong social message in a light hearted manner.
'Helmet manages to put across a social message in a humorous manner, 'she said.
Pranutan Bahl has won appreciation from audiences and critics for her performance in Helmet, which seeks to bring focus on the problem of population control.
Pranutan has impressed as Ruoali, the girlfriend of protagonist Lucky(Aparshakti Khurrana) . Critics have said that Pranutan Bahl looks pretty and comes across as endearing in the film.
A quirky comedy based in the heartland of India, Helmet deals with a topic that it embarrassing for most people in the country. The film tries to deal with the subject in a hilarious and comic manner.
It stars Aparshakti Khurrana in the lead opposite Pranutan Bahl ,
Helmet also features Ashish Verma, Abhishek Banerjee and Dino Morea in pivotal roles.
