Tina Munim reflected an elfin charm on screen that was refreshingly modern for its time: Rishi Kapoor

Rishi Kapoor,  the favourite lover boy of Bollywood ,  may have  been known for his popular pairing with Neetu Singh in the 1970s and 80s but during that early phase of his career, the actor also did a large number of films with the beautiful and charming actress Tina Munim. 


In his autobiography Khullam Khulla: Rishi Kapoor uncensored, the late actor revealed that after Neetu Singh,  with whom he eventually got married,  Rishi Kapoor did the maximum number of films with Tina Munim. 


In his memoir,  Rishi Kapoor said that Tina Munim was among the actresses who made a significant contribution to his career. 


''After Neetu, the actress  I made the maximum number of films  with was Tina and we went on to become good friends,'Rishi Kapoor said. 


After Neelu Singh, the actress with whom Rishi Kapoor did the maximum number of films was Tina Munim 





Rishi Kapoor said that Tina,  who was discovered by Dev Anand in Des Pardes( became a huge star in 1978. 


'She was discovered by Dev Anand and became a huge star in 1978. Our biggest hits together were Aap Ke Deewane, Karz and Kaatilon Ke Katil. 


There also those who failed to create ripples at the box office such as Bade Dil Wala, Deedar_e_ Yaar and Yeh Vaada Raha,'he wrote in his autobiography. 


Talking about Tina Munim,  Rishi Kapoor said that the actress reflected an elfin charm on screen. 


'Tina's Rang as an actor may have been limited but she exuded an elfin charm on screen that was refreshingly modern for its time and complement my image beautifully. 


I had never before worked with a today's girl like her. People said that we looked good together, 'Rishi Kapoor said. 


The actor said that Subhash Ghai's Karz,  in which Rishi Kapoor and Tina Munim were paired together,  will always remain close to his heart. 


'Karz, in which we worked together,  will always remain special to me, extremely close to my heart.  I don't know how she feels about it, but it is a personal favourite as far as I am concerned,  even though it was not a huge hit,'the actor said. 


He said that Kaatilon Ke Katil was another film that he did with Tina Munim that ran for twenty five weeks. 


The Actor said that his  budding friendship with Tina and the string of movies they did together led to rampant speculation of a secret affair

Tina Munim,  a noted Bollywood actress in the 1070s and 1980s,  made her debut with Dev Anand's Des Pardes.  She later did several films like Karz, Deedar-e-Yaar and Kaatilon Ke Katil with Rishi Kapoor,  Fifty Fifty,  Souten and Alag Alag with Rajesh Khanna,  Yudh with Jackie Shroff and Rocky with Sanjay Dutt among other films. 


In 1991, she married Anil Ambani, the youngest son of business tycoon Dhirubhai Ambani.
