Kartik Aaryan to play lead in romantic thriller Freddy produced by Ekta Kapoor

Kartik Aaryan is on a toll.

After bagging projects like Bhool Bhulaiya 2, Dhamaka, action thriller Captain India and Sajid Nadiadwala's yet untitled film,  Kartik Aaryan will play the lead in the Dark romantic thriller Freddy which is being produced by Ekta Kapoor 

Freddy,  which is being directed by Shashank Ghosh, will go on floors on August 1 in Mumbai.

Freddy is being produced by Ekta Kapoor in collaboration with Northern Lights Films of Jay Shewakramani.

On roping in Kartik Aaryan for the film, Ekta Kapoor said, 'I'm thrilled to have Kartik on board. His choices of subjects have always been unique and this one is no different. I’m excited to take the audience into this dark, delicious world. Collaborating with Jayu makes it even more special.'

Talking about the film, Kartik Aaryan  said, “As an actor, I crave to explore different facades of entertainment and with Freddy, I’m venturing into an uncharted territory which is both exciting and intriguing in equal measures. I look forward to dwelling in the world of Freddy and bring alive this dark romantic thriller. It also marks my first collaboration with a visionary like Ekta Kapoor and creatives forces like Jayu and Shashanka. Couldn’t have asked for a better team on this new journey.”

Freddy marks Ekta Kapoor and Shashanka Ghosh’s second film after  Veere Di Wedding.

Speaking about the film,  Shashank Ghosh said “As a filmmaker, there is a lot to play with the genre, like a thriller. I am more than excited to work with an incredible team on a project as inspiring as Freddy. I am sure that the film is going to be one of the best thrilling cinematic experiences for the audience across the nation.”

Freddy is an addition to the various film projects for which Kartik Aaryan has been signed in recent months.

The actor currently has an enviable list of projects which include Dhamaka, horror comedy Bhool Bhulaiya 2, the action thriller Captain India,  directed by Hansal Mehta and Sajid Nadiadwala's untitled project that was earlier titled Satyanarayan Ki Katha.
