Film on Kargil War hero Vikram Batra to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on I Day

Amid continued uncertainty on reopening of theatres due to prevalence of second wave of COVID-19 and looming threat of the third wave,  increasing number of filmmakers are going for direct release of their films on OTT. 

After Hungama 2, Bhoot Police and Bhuj The Pride of India,  makers of Shershah,  a film that tells the story of valor and sacrifice of Kargil war hero Vikram Batra, today announced a direct OTT release of the film. 

Shershah, a collaboration between Dharma Productions of Karan Johar and Amazon Prime Video,   will release on Amazon Prime Video on August 12.

The film, which features Bollywood heartthrob Siddharth Malhotra in the lead role along with Kiara Advani,  will have its global premiere on the streaming platform on August 12.

Directed by Vishnu Vardhan, Shershah is the first collaboration between Amazon Prime Video and Dharma Productions.

Siddharth Malhotra said that he is excited over the release of Shershah.

'No one will understand how much emotional I am right now. . I am very proud of Vikram Batra.  I was waiting for this movie from past few years finally! It's here,'Siddharth Malhotra said.

Shershah  is yet another film,  after Hungama 2, Bhoot Police and Bhuj The Pride of India to opt for a direct OTT release due to continued uncertainty on reopening of theatres across the country due to prevalence of second wave of COVID-19 and looming threat of the third wave.
