Indian Idol 12 Finale to run for 12 hours on Independence day

It will be a grand finale to the 12th edition of the Indian Idol singing reality show on Sony Entertainment this Independence day.

For the first time in the history of Indian television,  , the finale of Indian Idol 12  will run for 12 hours, from 12 pm on August 15 to 12 am on August 16.

What promises to impart a grand feel to the finale of the reality show is the presence of several celebrity guests during the finale episode.

Sources said that the finale episode is expected to be graced by Siddharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani and rest of  the star cast of the film Shershah,  which streams on Disney Hotstar from August 12.

Further, since the episode is being aired on Independence Day, Army personnel have also been invited to be a part of the final episode.

In a new promo released by Sony Entertainment Television, which has also been shared by Colors TV,  the finale of Indian Idol 12 is being promoted as the Greatest Grand Finale ever.

Sharing the promo on its social media handle,  Sony TV said, '"Iss aakhri jung mein aakhir kaun le jayega #IndianIdol ka khitaab? Dekhna mat bhooliyega #IndianIdol2020 ka 12 ghante ka mega finale, #TheGreatestGrandFinaleEver, 15th August ko dopahar 12 baje se raat 12 baje tak, sirf Sony par!"

ON the celebrations of the grand finale,  the show director Neeraj Sharma said that the makers of the show wanted to do something special on the occasion of the grand finale.

'This season has been loved so much & we wanted to do something really special, & thus the 12-hour episode,'Sharma  said.

Six contestants - Pawandeep Rajan, Arunita Kanjilal, Nihal Tauro, Mohd Danish, Shanmukhapriya and Sayli Kamble - are in the race to win Indian Idol 12 trophy.
