SRK heartbroken on Women hockey team's loss in Tokyo but says team inspired with their effort

Shahrukh, who became a torchbearer for Women's hockey in India with his inspirational role in the 2007 film Chak De India,  today said he is heartbroken over  Women's hockey team's loss to Great Britain in the bronze medal match at the Tokyo Olympics but lauded the team for inspiring people in the country with the tough fight given by them to Great Britain.

Reacting to Women's hockey team's 3-4 loss to Great Britain , Shahrukh khan said, 'heartbreak!!! But all reasons to hold our heads high. Well played Indian Women’s Hockey Team. You all inspired everyone in India. That itself is a victory.'

Shahrukh khan's 2007 film Chak De India, which told the fictional story of  Women's hockey team's meteoric rise from an also ran outfit to becoming world champions.

Inspired by the Women's hockey team's win at the 2002 Commonwealth Games, Chak De India, directed by Shimit Aminserved as a torch bearer for women's hockey in India,  reviving interest in the sport in the country.

Infact, the title song of the film,  scored by Salim merchant and Suleman merchant,  became a sports anthem which is played on india's win at major sporting events.

According to music composer Salim merchant,  the song Chak De India"almost became the sports anthem of the country, especially after India won the Cricket World Cup 2011'.

The Indian Women’s Hockey Team lost a hard fought match to Great Britain at the Tokyo Olympics 3-4, thus missing the bronze at the sporting event.
