Tahira Kashyap Khurrana to make directorial debut with slice of life comedy on modern Indian female experience

After impressing with her short story Quarantine crush in the Netflix anthology Feels like ishq, writer Tahira Kashyap Khurrana is set to make her debut as a director of a feature with Sharmaji Ki Beti, a slice of life comedy about the modern Indian female experience.
Applause Entertainment and Ellipses entertainment are collaborating for Tahira Kashyap Khurrana's debut directorial feature Sharmaji Ki Beti, a warm and real peek into lives of modern urban Indian women, all with the common surname of Sharma.
Sharmaji Ki Beti is a story of mothers,daughters,partners,friends and ultimately, womenhood - the perfect antidote to the default male gaze that dominates popular cinema.

This relatable multi generational ensemble comedy drama about the modern female middle class experience will be headlined by a cast comprising Sakshi Tanwar, Divya Dutta and Sayami Kher.
The film, while true to india, also promises to resonate with Gen Z, millennial and boomers across the world, represented by the various sharmas in the film.
