Rajat Bedi to debut as villain in Telugu blockbuster Ahimsa opposite Rana Daggubati brother Abhiram

After impressing audiences as villain in several Bollywood films,  actor Rajat Bedi is all set to make his debut as villain in Telugu film industry in a film starring the brother of Rana Daggubati Abhiram Daggubati.

Rajat Bedi will debut as villain in Telugu film  AHIMSA, which also marks debut of ‘Bahubali’ fame Rana Daggubati’s brother Abhiram Daggubati and newcomer  Geethika Tiwary.

Rajat Bedi will play the main villain in the Telugu film  AHIMSA, which is being directed by well known director Teja.

Ahimsa also marks the debut of ‘Bahubali’ fame Rana Daggubati’s younger brother Abhiram Daggubati and newcomer Geethika Tiwary.

A youth-oriented love story, AHIMSA is being produced by Anandi Art Creations (P. Kiran) and  D. Suresh Babu, one of the biggest producers of South India.

Rajat Bedi, who has played a menacing villain in several Hindi films with almost all Superstars of Bollywood , including Hrithik Roshan,  Sunny Deol, Salman Khan and Emraan Hashmi,  says that making his debut as villain in a Telugu film featuring the brother of Rana Daggubati is a dream come true.

'Whenever a new actor or star emerges in Telugu films, the villain has always been given due importance and this time it’s me Rajat Bedi. And bagging the main villain’s role opposite Rana Daggubati’s younger brother Abhiram in a Anandi Art Creations (P. Kiran) and  D Suresh Babu’ film directed by Teja sir is a dream come true. Teja sir believes in working with and is known to launch new talent who are superstars now,'Rajat said.

Rajat Bedi,  who is still, remembered for his villainous role in the Hrithik Roshan starrer Sci fi thriller Koi Mil Gaya, a film which marked his debut in Bollywood is confident that his role,e in Ahimsa will go down in history of Telugu films as one of the most powerful roles.

'It’s been almost 20 years but people still remember Rajat Bedi as the villain opposite Hrithik Roshan in Rakesh Roshan’s Koi…Mil Gaya. I cannot reveal much about Abhiram’s dream debut but I can definitely say that I shall ensure that Abhiram’s fans hate me and yet adore and respect and remember me for being the villain in his debut film.

I shall create history in Telugu films with a villain’s role that will stand out as one of the most powerful ever,” Rajat Bedi said.

Rajat Bedi, who will be seen donning the greasepaint after a long gap, says that the Emergency of multiple platforms like OTT,  cable and satellite television has opened up a lot of avenues for actors and artists in the film industry.

The actor says that he plans to soon venture out in film production.

“I always felt incomplete staying away from the Indian film and entertainment industry as this is where I belong! The timing is perfect now – the emergence of multiple platforms such as OTT, cable and satellite television, DTH and online digital formats are coinciding with new talent who are telling different stories and presently them in a daringly different manner. Besides acting, I plan to venture into production and will soon set up a production house in Mumbai,”  Rajat Bedi said.

On roping in Rajat Bedi as the villain,  the director of Ahimsa Teja, who has been honoured with several state awards such as Nandi Awards and Filmfare Awards for Best Director for ‘Nuvvu Nenu’ and other superhit films such as Chitram, Jayam, Nijam and Nene Raju Nene Manthri, said, ',the strapping six-foot plus Rajat Bedi, who debuted in Koi…Mil Gaya’, went on to do nearly 50 films with all leading superstars such as Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Sunny Deol, Govinda, John Abraham, Bobby Deol, Suniel Shetty and even Rajinikanth among others. Rajat Bedi has the body, mindset and attitude, face and the voice to make it big as a villain yet again.”

Rajat Bedi has done close to 50 Hindi films with all the superstars of Hindi cinema.  Bedi's filmography includes several blockbusters such as International Khiladi, Jodi No. 1, Indian, Jaani Dushman..., Chor Machaaye Shor, Chaalbaaz, The Hero: Love Story of a Spy, Rakht, Aksar, Rocky - The Rebel, Jaan-E-Mann, Partner,The Train and Khamoshh...Khauff ki Raat.

Friends and admirers of Rajat Bedi are confident that Rajat Bedi will pack a punch as villain in the Telugu film industry.

As a villain, Rajat brings in his trademark menacing and evil look despite looking innocent and boyish.
