Playing villainous characters was not a conscious choice for Tej Sapru

He is etched in the annals of Bollywood as being among the iconic villains, having assayed the antagonist to many heroes of Bollywood like Sunny Deol, Sanjay Dutt , Shatrughan Sinha, Salman Khan and Sanjay Kapoor.
Veteran actor and famous villain of 80s and the 90s Tej Sapru has left a mark in Bollywood for his villainous characters over the years.

However, for the actor, playing villainous characters was not a conscious choice.
In a recent chat, Tej Sapru, who is currently grabbing eyeballs as Prajapati Daksh in the mythological show Baal Shiv, being telecast on &TV, said that as a villain, he got a chance to work alongside legendary villains like Amrish Puri and Pran.
'I come from the time when villains had their fan following. Interestingly, I have played son to the most iconic villains of the Bollywood industry, including the late Amrish Puri, Gulshan Grover and Pran. I loved playing the villainous characters, but it was not a choice.
Rather, my action sequences attracted the audiences and directors so much that I started getting offers to play the dashing villain who’s also amazing at doing an action,'he said.
Of the various villainous characters played by Tej Sapru, the one played in Mr India is among his favorite.
'I have played so many villainous characters that naming one would be an injustice. However, my character of Teja in Mr India got me recognition,'he said.
Tej Sapru is currently in news for his character of Prajapati Daksh in mythological show Baal Shiv , which is being telecast on &TV.
He was recently also seen in the web series Dil Bekaraar, which is the story of the crazy Thakur family set in 1980s Delhi.
Dil Bekaraar is the screen adaptation of Anuja Chauhan’s novel Those Pricey Thakur Girls.
