After super success of Drishyam2, An action Hero and   Bhediya fail to set box office on fire

It is back to square one for Bollywood after super success of Drishyam2 with new releases Bhediya and An action Hero failing to set the box office on fire.

After the meteoric run of Drishyam2,  subsequent releases have had a lacklustre run at the box office.


Bhediya and An action Hero have a lacklustre run at the box office 



While the horror comedy Bhediya earned just Rs 55 cr in its first two weeks,  the action drama An action Hero proved to be a damp squib , earning just Rs 8.75 cr in its opening week.

Despite its release evoking a lot of buzz among cinelovers,  An Action Hero had a poor opening at the box office,  earning just Rs 5.6 cr in its opening weekend.

The collections of the film witnessed a sharp drop on the week days.

Directed by Anirudh Iyer, An Action Hero is the story of superstar,  youth icon and Action Hero Maanav who, after reaching the pinnacle of his career at a young age of just 30, meets with an accident which brings an upheaval in his life.

Once a household name,  Maanav now finds himself living in hiding.

An Action hero also stars Jaideep Ahlawat in a pivotal role.

Last week's release Bhediya too failed to set the box office on fire.

After poor collections of Rs 38 cr in its opening week,the horror comedy saw a drop in collections to Rs 17 cr in its second week,  taking its earnings in two weeks to Rs 55 cr..

The third installment in Dinesh Vijan's horror-comedy universe,  Bhediya stars Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon in the lead roles.

Both Bhediya and An action Hero released to high expectations at the box office but failed to enthuse audiences.

Meanwhile,  psychological thriller Drishyam 2 continues its meteoric run at the box office,  having earned Rs 191 cr in three weeks and likely to reach the milestone of Rs 200 cr in its fourth weekend.
