By Rajesh Ahuja

He has grabbed attention of viewers as Ashok from Doosri Maa,  the social drama being aired on &TV.

Even as actor Mohit Dagga gets accolades for his performances in the popular show, there is another little known but beautiful facet to his personality, that of his love for poetry.

On the occasion of World Poetry Day, being celebrated across the globe to support linguistic diversity through Poetry, Mohit Dagga talks about his love  for  poetry.

Actor Mohit Dagga says that poetry is the best kind of addiction

In a chat,  the actor said that  poetry written by great writers inspires him and helps provide newer perspectives on life.

'I have always liked Hindi literature. Poems written by Sharad Joshi, Harishankar Parsai, and Prem Chand inspire me and help provide newer perspectives on life. Poetry is indeed the best kind of addiction anyone can ever have,'the actor said.

Talking about his love for Hindi literature and poetry, Mohit Dagga said, 'since my younger days, I was a kitabi keeda.  I would be engrossed in my favourite poets so much that I never paid much attention to other subjects (laughs).

No other type of literature creates such a plethora of feelings and emotions as poetry. Another good part about poetry is that it brings me immense peace from within.''

He urged the  modern  generation  to inculcate  a love  for  poetry.

''While today’s generation might not enjoy the yesteryear classics as much as we did, I still urge people, especially youth, to spare a few moments from their busy lives and either read or listen to poem,''he said.

Known for  television shows like  Aap Ke Aa Jane Se , Ek Mutthi Aasmaan  and Left Right Left , Mohit Dagga is currently grabbing eyeballs as Ashok in the  social  drama Doosri Maa, being  aired on &TV from  Monday  to  Friday  at  8 pm.
