Farhan to direct Jee Le Zaraa, film about an all girls road trip with Priyanka,Katrina, Alia

Why should boys have all the fun? this catchy tag line of popular TVCs by Hero Motor Corp and Honda Motors in 2013 and  2014 grabbed eyeballs of the television audiences with its message of women empowerment..

Nearly a decade later, the  concept of the popular ads is set to form the subject of a cinematic venture by Excel Entertainment.

Two decades after it brought a revolution in Indian cinema with Dil Chahta Hai,  a film about a road trip by three friends -  Aamir Khan,  Saif Ali Khan and Akshay khanna -  Excel Entertainment have announced another road trip film Jee Le Zaraa,  which is  about a road trip by three female friends- played by Priyanka Chopra,  Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif.

In an uncanny coincidence, Bollywood divas Priyanka and Alia , who featured in the TVCs by Honda motors and Hero Motor Corp, also form a part of the cast for the cinematic venture, to be directed by Farhan Akhtar

Being produced by Reema Kagti, Zoya Akhtar, Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, Jee Le Zaraa is slated for a 2023 release..

Announcing the film,  Farhan Akhtar said,'Did someone say road trip? Thrilled to announce my next film as director and what better day than 20 years of Dil Chahta Hai to do it. #JeeLeZaraa with Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt . Will commence filming in 2022 and I cannot wait to get this show on the road. '

With Jee Le Zaraa,  Farhan Akhtar will  be returning to direction after Don 2.

Incidentally,  the announcement of the film comes after 20 years of Dil Chahta Hai,  a path-breaking film that revolutionized the Indian film scene with a coming of age film about three friends which took viewers through their journey of love,  triumphs and heartbreak.
