Legendary Singer Hariharan's son Akshay Hariharan scores music for Indo Polish love story No Means No

His father,  Legendary Singer Hariharan,  has given soulful melodies for several films over the years,  from the title track of Hum Saath Saath Hain to Yun Hi Chala Chal Rahi in Swades.

Carrying forward his father's musical legacy,  Krishna Hariharan has composed the music for No Means No,  the first joint film production  venture  between  India and Poland.

No Means No, which releases in cinemas on Diwali,  also features some soul stirring songs from Legendary Singer Hariharan.

In a chat ahead of the release of the film,  Hariharan said that he loved working on the project.

"No means no is an international Polish Indian Film, directed by Vikash Verma which stars Dhruv Verma in a lead role. Incidently me and my son Akshay Hariharan has done music for the movie. It was a very interesting project with lot of fusion music and electronic background score made by Akshay. We loved working in this project,'Hariharan said.

Since the movie has been shot in Poland,  Hariharan thought that its musical  score should also have a distinctly European feel in it.

Accordingly, Hariharan made liberal use of cellos and pianos to bring out the sound of European instrumentals. He also got some of the best singers from Germany, Belarus and other parts of Europe to get the best background scores.

While Akshay Hariharan is the music producer of ‘No Means No’, Karan Hariharan is also one of the singers of the movie.

Alongside music legend Hariharan, Shreya Ghoshal has also given her  vocals to the songs of the film.

No means No will also feature vocals by Singer Arvinder Singh who is popular for his all-time hit album ‘Paani Sharab Mein’ .

Music composer Akshay Hariharan said that a lot of hard work has gone behind the music of No Means No.

"No means no is one of the most anticipated films directed by Vikash Verma, staring Dhruv Verma and a host of great actors. I'm very privileged to be the music producer and composer of this movie.Its been a great experience as a lot of hard work has gone through. A  lot of guidance was given by Hari Ji in music  composition of the film.  It's basically a fusion of Indian, European, Electronic and all kinds of different genres of music. Hopefully we have done justice to it,'he said.

Mostly shot in  locations in Poland in  chilling temperatures  of -30 degree Celsius, No Means No has an ensemble cast comprising Indian and Polish actors.

A romantic action thriller, No Means No is the first Indo Polish joint film production venture

Shot simultaneously in  English, Hindi and Polish, No Means No has been produced by G7 Films Poland and directed by Vikash Verma.

The film,  which  marks director Vikash Verma’s directorial debut, stars newcomer Dhruv Verma and Polish actress Anna Guzik in the lead roles and Gulshan Grover, Sharad Kapoor, Deep Raj Rana and Polish actors Natalia Bach, Sylvia Chek, Pavel Czech, Nazia Hassan, Anna Adore, Jersey Handzlik, and Kat Christian featuring in pivotal roles .

The film follows an Indian ski champion (Dhruv Verma), who participates in a ski championship in Poland. There he falls in love with a Polish gir.

No Means No also features Sanjay Dutt and Preity Zinta in important roles.

Vikash Verma says that the film is basically a  love story.

'The teenage hero of the film is a skiing player who travels to Poland to participate in the Winter Olympics championship. The boy falls in love with a girl in the film and the film is based on the events that happen after that,'he said.

Vikash said that the film has been shot in Poland. 

' The cast and the entire production team have put in a lot of hard work. We  shot in -31 degree temperature,'he said.

On the film being titled No Means No', Vikash Verma said ,'till now women were considered 'Abla', (weak) but now womenare increasingly asserting their rights.. This is  the message that is set to by put across in the film.'

The film  was Initially scheduled to be released on March 22  2021, but postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic .

Later, it was  scheduled for theatrical release on Diwali.
