A series of web series and films traversing a wide variety of genres are set to provide wholesome entertainment to viewers this week on the various digital platforms.

Streaming on various digital platforms this pre Diwali week will be supernatural horror films Dybbuk and Aafat-E-Ishq, crime thriller Girgit and quirky comedies Call My Agent Bollywood and Hum do Hamare do.

While supernatural horror film Aafat-E-Ishq streams on Zee5 from October 29, crime thriller web series Girgit streams on Alt Balaji from October 27 and supernatural horror Dybbuk streams on Amazon Prime Video from October 29.

Quirky comedy Call My Agent Bollywood streams on Netflix from October 29 while comedy drama Hum do Hamare do streams on Disney Hotstar from October 29

Aafat-E-Ishq on Zee5

Streaming on Zee5 from October 29 is supernatural horror comedy Aafat-E-Ishq,  story of a naive and sweet girl Lallo who finds herself going on a string of dates in her quest for true love.

However,  each of her dates is followed by the death of the person,  making her the Prime suspect in the multiple deaths.

The deaths occur even as an ancient curse looms over Lallo, threatening to destroy everything and everyone around her.

Directed by Indrajit Nattoji who has also written the screenplay,  Aafat-E-Ishq is a remake of the Hungarian film Liza  the Fox-Fairy.

It features Neha Sharma in the lead role of Lallo. The film stars Namit Das, Deepak Dobriyal, Garima Jain, Amit Sial and Ila Arun in pivotal roles.

The story of the film revolves around Lallo,  a sweet girl from Himachal who is in the quest for true love.  He friend suggests her to use a dating application.  Soon after, she finds herself going on a series of dates.

However,  each of her dates is followed by the death of person , making her as the Prime suspect.

Ahead of the release of the film,  Neha Sharma said that playing Lallo required a lot of effort on her part in that had to work on matering the local dialect.  Playing Lallo also necessitated a complete makeover by her as she will be playing a totally de glam role in the film.

'Playing Lallo has been one of the most satisfying experiences.  It is is something I have never done before, 'Neha said.

Officials at ZEE5 said that there is a huge audience for supernatural horror films in India.

'The original Hungarian film Liza, the Fox-Fairy was a huge success internationally. Even in India, we have seen great traction for supernatural stories in the last couple of years,”Chief Business Officer at ZEE5 Manish Kalra said .

Girgit on Alt Balaji

After success of crime thrillers like LSD and Crimes and Punishment,  Alt Balaji streaming platform is ready with another crime thriller web series Girgit.

Girgit revolves around a  murder which sets off an investigation leading to multiple unexpected turns.

Girgit, which streams on the Alt Balaji and Mx player platform from October 27, features Nakul Roshan Sahdev,  Ashmita Jaggi,Samar Vifmani, Trupti Khamkar and Taniya Kalrra in key roles.

Actor Nakul Roshan Sahdev, who was seen in Meghna Gulzar's Raazi will play the male lead in the web series, produced under the banner of Balaji Telefilms.

The digital platform released the trailer of the web series on October 9.

The trailer of the web series promises an engrossing crime thriller where every character is not what he or she seems to be from the outside.

The release of the web series comes after the successful crime thrillers LSD and Crimes and Punishment  and gangster crime drama Cartel, which won a lot of appreciation from audiences for the intriguing storyline and performance by the cast.

Call My Agent Bollywood on Netflix

This week will also witness the release of Call My Agent Bollywood,  a quirky comedy about the various goings on in ,Ives of  four talent agents in the Mumbai Film industry.

Call My Agent Bollywood is the story of four Mumbai talent agents struggling to save their sinking company.

An Indian adaptation of the popular French series ‘Dix Pour Cent’, Call My Agent Bollywood  stars Aahana Kumra, Ayush Mehra, Rajat Kapoor and Soni Razdan in lead roles. Series  of Bollywood personalities,  including Jackie Shroff, Farah Khan, Dia Mirza, Lara Dutta, Ali Fazal and Richa Chadda make a guest appearance in the series.

Dybbuk on Amazon Prime Video

Also releasing this week on OTT will be supernatural horror film Dybbuk,  story about paranormal activities in the lives of a couple after the wife brings into her new home an antique Jewish box.

Written and directed by Jay K and produced by T series and Panorama Studios,  Dybbuk , a remake of the 2017 Malayalam film Ezra, will stream  on Amazon Prime Video from October 29.

Dybbuk, in Jewish mythology, is a malicious possessing spirit believed to be the dislocated soul of a dead person. It supposedly leaves the host body once it has accomplished its goal, sometimes after being exorcised.

The story of Dybbuk revolves around an antique Jewish purchased by a newly married woman Mahi . However,  soon after, the couple begin to experience paranormal activities in their home. They soon realize that the box which they have purchased is a dybbuk box.

Dybbuk stars Emraan Hashmi and Nikita Dutta in the lead roles of the couple who  experience paranormal activities . The film also features Darshana Banik, Pranay Ranjan, Manav Kaul, Yuri Suri, Denzil Smith and Vipin Sharma in key roles.

Hum Do Humaare Do on Disney Hotstar

Another interesting offering on OTT this week is comedy drama Hum do Hamare do,  story of a young couple keen to adopt parents.

Directed by Abhishek Jain and produced by Dinesh Vijan,  Hum do Hamare do is story of a young couple (Rajkummar Rao and Kriti Sanon) who are keen to adopt parents.

Hum Do Humaare Do takes viewers through the hilarious turn of events after the decision of the couple to adopt parents.

It also features  Aparshakti Khurana, Manu Rishi and Prachi Shah in supporting roles.
