Bhool Bhulaiya 2 takes a rocking start at the box office, earns Rs 31.50 cr in first two days

Ending the average run of Bollywood films at the box office,  horror comedy Bhool Bhulaiya2 took a rocking start with collections of Rs 31.5 cr in its first two days.

The film, which earned Rs 13.5 cr on its opening day across India,  saw a 35 per cent jump in its collections on Saturday to Rs 18 cr, taking its two day earnings to Rs 31.5 cr.

Bhool Bhulaiya2 had excellent collections from Delhi and NCR,  Central India and Mumbai.

The rocking start taken by Bhool Bhulaiya2 ends the poor run by Bollywood films at the box office over the last few months.

Last few months have witnessed films like Jersey, Attack, Runway 34 and Heropanti2 take a below average opening at box office even as dubbed Hindi versions of multilingual action thrillers RRR and KGF2 have been drawing huge crowds at the theatres.

In this sense , the opening taken by Bhool Bhulaiya2 is the highest taken by a Hindi film in 2022.

Starring Kartik Aryan,  Kaira Advani, Tabu and Rajpal Yadav in pivotal roles, Bhool Bhulaiya2 is  a sequel to the successful 2007 film Bhool Bhulaiya that featured Akshay Kumar,  Vidya Balan and Shiny Ahuja in lead roles.

Directed by Anees Bazmee, Bhool Bhulaiya2 was initially scheduled for theatrical release on July 31, 2020 but was postponed due to Covid.

The film has evoked lot of curiosity among cinegoers with its promos and trailer generating tremendous buzz among cinegoers.

The music of the film has been composed by Pritam and Tanishk Bagchi with lyrics written by Amitabh Bhattacharya, Sameer and Mandy Gill.

The film was initially set for a July 2020 release but was pushed to November 19 due to the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic. Later , the film was postponed to  March 25 due to the Covid-19 pandemic caused by the Omicron variant.
