Amitabh Bachchan Emraan hashmi starrer Chehre to release in cinemas on August 27

With easing of Covid restrictions in the country paving way for reopening of cinema halls after a prolonged shutdown, increasing number of filmmakers are scheduling release of their films in theatres in the coming days.

After Punjabi film Puaada and Akshay Kumar starrer Bell Bottom,  the makers of the Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi starrer Chehre have announced the release of the film in theatres on August 27.

The film which will see Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi share screen space for the first time, was to be released in theatres in April but had to be postponed earlier in April due to the second wave of COVID-19.

Sharing the announcement with his fans, superstar Amitabh Bachchan said, '

A psychological thriller,  Chehre has been directed by Rumy Jafry and produced by Anand Pandit Motion Pictures and Saraswati Entertainment P Ltd.

Besides  Amitabh Bachchan,  Chehre also features Annu Kapoor,  Krystle D'Souza and Rhea Chakraborty in key toles.

Amitabh Bachchan plays the role of a Lawyer in Chrhre while Emraan plays a business tycoon in the film.

The film has also been in news for featuring Rhea Chakraborty,  who will be seen on the big screen in the film for the first time e since she was arrested in a drug case by the Mumbai police.

The teaser, posters and trailer of Chehre have generated a huge buzz for the film ahead of its release.

Chehre is the third film and the second Bollywood film after Bell  Bottom to have scheduled its release in theatres after reopening of cinema halls in many parts of the country following a dip in number of Covid-19 cases in the country.

The coming weeks will see the theatrical release of Punjabi film Puaada and Bell Bottom.  While Puaada releases in cinemas on August 12, Bell Bottom is scheduled to release on August 19

Amitabh Bachchan will in the coming days also be seen in May Day and Goodbye. He will also be hosting the new edition of the KBC, to be telecast on Sony Entertainment network soon.
