Punjabi film Puaada hits theatres today; Will it be  back to the cinemas for the audiences ?

After a prolonged period of shutdown of cinema halls across India due to Covid-19,  it is set to be back to cinemas for the audiences with Punjabi film Puaada releasing in theatres across India today.

The Ammy Virk and Sonam Bajwa starrer Puaada releases in cinemas worldwide today, becoming the first Punjabi film to hit theatres after a one and a half year gap.

The film, which brings together the popular pair of Ammy Virk and Sonam Bajwa on the screen for the fourth time,  has created tremendous buzz among cinelovers ahead of its release.

The film is creating a  rage among the youth and family audiences with its trailer touching 1 crore views and the songs garnering more than 2 crore views..

Further , the Punjabi film is 7th most trending film on IMDB.

The film features on the top ten trending films on IMDB alongside  films like Bell Bottom and  Bhuj The Pride of India. 

This is for the first time that a Punjabi film has made it to a national most anticipated list and that’s quite an achievement! This just shows the anticipation and craze amongst the audiences not just only in punjab but all across the country!



Punjabi film Puaada hit theatres worldwide today 




Trade sources said that despite the threat of the Covid pandemic continuing, many shows of the film have been sold in advance.

Infact, cinema chains across the globe are adding more and more screens to keep up with the demand.

Puaada is having the biggest release for an Ammy Virk and Sonam Bajwa starrer outside of Punjab in India and also in the overseas markets.

The film's lead actor Ammy virk is confident about the good showing of hhe film.

In a chat ahead of release of the film,  Ammy Virk said, 'this film has the perfect dose of desi and urban content to appeal to all types of punjabis settled everywhere!” 

Puaada is a romantic comedy  where Sonam Bajwa’s character challenges Ammy’s character at every step .

Talking about her character in the film,  Sonam Bajwa said, 'I enjoy playing strong female characters. The character of Raunak in this film represents all the girls of today from cities to villages who will do whatever it takes to stand up for what they believe is right.” 

With the huge response to the film's trailer, the producers are confident that the film will attract audiences to the theatres.

''People have been sitting in homes for a long time now and everyone is looking for good entertainment to provide them good laughs and relief and we promise you Puaada will give you just that,'Producer Atul Bhalla  said.

This is the same team that  brought to the  audiences the previous mega laugh riot Shadaa starring Diljit Dosanjh and Neeru Bajwa.

This time , the producers are looking to tap the same audiences with this colourful comedy.

According to producer Pawan Gill,'“as a production house it’s always our endeavour to produce widely appealing content, and the widest possible entrainment for punjabis is comedy with romance. After Shadaa we have now tried to give audiences all that but with a twist.” 

This is the fourth film to witness the popular pairing of Ammy Virk and Sonam Bajwa,  who have given several hits to the Punjabi film industry . 

Talking about her crackling chemistry with Ammy Virk,  Sonam Bajwa said, 'our chemistry is natural and magical on screen. Right from our first film, Ammy and I have always had this natural ease with each other and that’s what the audiences enjoy.' 

A  mad, desi, comedy, romance, Puaada has been directed by debutante Rupinder Chahal and produced by Atul Bhalla of A and A Pictures and Pawan Gill, Anurag Singh and Aman Gill of Brat films.

The film is being released worldwide  by Zee Studios.  

Puaada was initially set to release earlier this year but it's release had to be pushed back due the the pandemic.
